I know everyone has some scary stories about events they or an acquaintance witnessed at the hand of some crooks. Let's document these so people would know what situations they can avoid. Things like gangs, some mullahs, some mobile thieves, etc.

My story:

One of the family acquaintances, a young fella, friends was returning from a late night dinner party in Lahore. Driving along he spotted an old, well dressed man who waved at his car asking for a lift. He stopped, and the old man sat in his back seat.

He asked the old man:

Driver: "Baba ji kidhar drop kardoon?" (Where can I drop you?)

Baba: "Batata hoon, pehle sheeshay se peechay dekho" (I'll tell you but look behind through the rear view mirror).

What he saw was him flashing a lot of bombs hooked onto his jacket.

Then he told him I want you to ram your car into some police check point and I will blow up the car. Then he forced him to start searching for some police check point. All the time talking about the glories of martyrdom that he would achieve from this act. After a while he received a call, and he heard the old man say:

"Ok phir ajki operation cancel karte hain" (Alright then we'll cancel today's operation).

Then he asked him to go back to where he picked him up. He went there, before getting out of the car he reiterated his comments on martyrdom and said:

"Aj na meri, na tumhari maut likhi hui thi. Shahadat ka mauqa tumhe phir kabhi milega, bhoolna matt jo maine kaha" (Neither of us were destined to die today. You'll get your chance at martyrdom later, don't forget what I've said)

All the while the guy is like "yeah, ok, yeah".

Then he sped away like there's no tomorrow. He says he's so traumatized he's afraid to get into the car again. Imagine if he would have rammed his car and tomorrow when they identified him, people would just think he was some terrorist too.

Lesson? Never ever give anyone a ride.

Dont know about in Pakistan but in Bangalore if you are newbie you will find people who will be english speaking looking as if they are from very well to do family. They will come to you and say that they are software professional and have just been looted with money or have lost their mobile phone and wallet. then they will ask you for 100 or so money so that they can reach home. they will ask you for your phone no and other details. But next day neither the call will come nor you will ever see that person. Happened to me and my frens quite some time in Bangalore

The only one scary story i have is of when i was 12 and our convent took us on a school trip to ayubia, it was an amazing day and we loved it, on our way back the road was blocked (as usual) horns blaring, people shouting and screaming.

Now our school bus was full of nuns and children, the only male was our Driver Jamshed baba ( i can still recall his frizzly white beard and happy go lucky attitude).

Anyway out of no where a fight broke out between two group of men who were beating each other senseless, one of the group started firing and the others retaliated... I still remember hearing the stray bullets smash the rear windscreen of our bus.

Everyone was screaming and shouting, and out of no where like guardian angels the strangers from surrounding cars got out and huddled the bus, i still remember the beating those boys got.

It may not seem like much but to a 12 year old it's awfully traumatic, but i still will not forget the bravery of those men who stranger to us, risked their lives to protect innocent children and women.

I don't think that would happen in today's society.

It was 16 nov 2008 (my birthday) we were coming back from my bro's wedding at 4 in the early morning. It was a long way drive about an hour from DHA. I will make this story short...
3 dakos ambushed us and fired gun shots towards our family convoy but thank god my parents car with newly weds escaped along with another family member's car. We were at the back so we were caught and told everyone to get out of the car at gun point. Took most of the belongings and before leaving they shot my bro-in-law's leg but my cousins say that the shot was not aimed for the leg.
After a month the Lahore Police caught them and asked me to come to identify them cuz i was the only one who remember their faces. Now these B@stards are behind the bar *******.

. .
Nobody invited them. they are not our guests. they are intruders.

Please bahi be rational, how one sided would the discussions here be without the diversity? Besides some of your statements are bordering on rude, either way my duty to you as a Pakistani is to show you the light.

Don't say i didn't warn you...

He was supposed to rush to the Police station and make that old guy arrested or atleast call police and describe them the situation and place.
