Hello,
If any of you has read his afsaanay , i was wondering what do you think about his writtings . He is known as the greater writer of the subcontinent and all i read views about him were from the elite writers who presented him in form of a mirror of our soceity , a prophecy of the upcoming soceity of pakistan and all that .
I remember when i was in my school grade , a teacher had just refused me to read his books because according to her he writes bad things about women .
Out of curiosity i bought his book and started reading that , i have read so many of his fictions .
My thoughts are that he indeed presented a sour reality of our soceity and its treatment toward women . Almost of his fictions are surrounding a woman and related to the private relationship between men Nd women . I agree his fictions are a mirror to our soceity but at sametime , i couldnt feel women in his fictions as a humanbeing having her own feelings and respect . What i read is how is she raped or sexualised , or objectified by men . I felt women as an object of pleasure for men in his writings , he has spoke all fantasies so mercilessly that men has for women . He was a merciless writer that didnt fear to write about the private relationship between men and women openly . So boldly he wrote about the frustration of men toward women .
There is rarely a mention of women desires . And i dont really disagree with him , its how our soceity is . Men desires are held more important and holy than a women's.
Im not insulting this great writer , his fictions were entertaining but some can be disturbing too . Some of his fictions really disturbed me mentally and i had to work hard to forget that fiction from my mind .
But i actually salute him to represent more than half of our soceity so boldly but i guess that not all men think of women as a pleasure toy .
Its my layman opinion and im interested to know other layman opinion here .
