The last thread I opened with similar theme was ignored by everybody. Agreed it is not as exiting as other topics like war/video games/computers, also that most members are too modest to disclose their activities, but I am really keen to know what members do about it.

Please share your views about charity/donations also the activities(if any you are involved with)

I myself have not done much this year(apart giving a few quid to wikipedia). Next year I am planning to support "cry" and "help age India".

I donated money to Pakistan durning the major floods via UNICEF. I've donated to the Salvation Army a few times. I've also donated to the United States Treasury.

I'm supposed to be involved with Engineers Without Borders (student chapel) but due to laziness and busyness in other work, I didn't get involved in the meetings and programs.

I respect you and admire anyone doing anything charitable and giving whatever you can but i think you will find people are private about what they give or do. I am. I dont want to make public for the simple reason its a personal private thing and the last thing i do it for is to commended or get a pat on my back.
I hope all the guys (however small it may be) do whatever they can - be it financial assistance or their time. Charity and charity activities is a commendable thing and hinduguy - respect for you telling us what you do but id rather keep mine private. Hope you are not offended.

I am not offended superkaif, I am neither champion of charitable causes( I respect the view that paying your tax is a decent way to help others) not I am here to blow my own trumpet(I already mentioned I have hardly done anything spectacular).
I wanted to start this thread so that I can motivate myself to do more, take inspiration from others( A1Kaid kindly shared his experience), and allow others to do the same.

I respect your privacy. But then there could be many people who dont think it is a private activity(people openly debate about many private activities here), and am interested to listen to them.

I was in Pakistan during the 2010 floods so me and a couple of my friends decided to go to Rohri Sukkur and personally help the people.
