The only issue here with the younger generations taking over is the lost decades that they will need to recuperate from before they can even get to the point of trying to compete with the rest of the world to have a hope of catching up. It will take at least several more decades. Having said that, I agree with you that it can be done, albeit on a much longer time scale than we have demonstrated any national patience for.

But what is the point of having nuclear weapons if our military leadership are such cowards they give their country up on phone call or threat letter?

Unless we are strong economically and be able to release this stranglehold of vested interests on the country, we cant be where a nuclear power should be.

Also its important to understand Americans will never want Pakistan to grow strong. We are the only nuclear Muslim country and they know we can be a threat to America's illegitimate child in the Middle East.
