You've declared the Indian Ocean is essentially yours. From the bay of Bengal bordering Myanmar to Oman and south to Madagascar encompassing the region as far north as Socotra. To properly protect and safeguard the region only an amphib capable Rapid Deployment Force with all own assets ie,SAM,lift, own logistics and entire range of tac air will do. In other an Indian Marine Corps,on the lines of the USMC MEU.
Here's a typical Marine expeditionary Unit,of around 2200 guys led by a Colonel.

M1A1 main battle tank ground
7 to 16 Light Armored Vehicle ground
15 Assault Amphibious Vehicle ground
6 155mm howitzer: M777 ground
8 M252 81mm mortar ground
8 BGM-71 Tube-Launched, Optically-Tracked, Wire-Guided (TOW) missile weapon system ground
8 FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank missile ground
4 to 6 AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters aviation
3 UH-1Y Venom light utility helicopters aviation
12 MV-22A Osprey medium-lift tiltrotor aircraft aviation
4 CH-53E Super Stallion heavy-lift transport helicopters aviation
6 AV-8B Harrier V/STOL light-attack airplanes aviation
2 KC-130 Hercules aerial re-fueler/transport airplanes
Note: usually maintained in the continental United States aviation
2 Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Unit logistics
1 LMT 3000 water purification unit logistics
4 Tractor, Rubber Tire, Articulated Steering logistics
2 TX51-19M Rough Terrain Forklift logistics
3 D7 bulldozer logistics
1 Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement dump truck logistics
4 Mk48 Logistics Vehicle System logistics
7 500 gallon water containers multiple
63 Humvee multiple
30 Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement trucks multiple
5 RQ-21 Stingray UAV aviation

The good thing is you have your own indigenous versions of all these assets apart from the AAV,which shouldn't be a problem form you guys.

Already the Chinese have deployed Marines to Djibouti:

China plans to increase the size of its marine corps from about 20,000 to 100,000 personnel to protect the nation’s maritime lifelines and its growing interests overseas, military insiders and experts have said.

Imo,(I'm not clued in and may be wrong)you've neglected this essential formation. Take care, the Chinese already have a head start!

I dont think we in India think we are the US , we dont need to invade anybody . :)

India will soon build up its own marine corps when it starts to invest heavily into other countries.

You're very very wrong! Once you lack power projection capability that comes only with a Marine Corps you'll never be taken seriously as a global power-you'll remain strictly a local at best a regional player. That's why the Chinese are setting up their own MC.
Remember the Yazidi incident 3 yrs back? Lack of a functioning IMC may have prevented Modi setting up a temporary amphib task force sailing into possible proxy wars and false flags to save them.
Even here its been realised we need a unit for the same reasons to operate from N Somalia,N Moz to E DRC. A battalion sized KMEF is in the works and should be operational in the next couple of years.

How about invasion of Kashmir, invasion of Goa, invasion of Sikkim and invasion of Hyderabad. These are all illegal invasions. India is not a peaceful nation with all these invasions.

In an ideal situation I would agree with you.

Now, completing a Mountain Strike Corps is far greater priority.

Call them by any name, the task done by soldiers of MC are essentially the same as that of regular infantry. Its the supporting arms & force multiplies that make a difference in their employment.

Should the need arise, existing resources are geared to foot the bill.

Would you call the action by PRC in Tibet in 59 as an invasion ?

If not, then the same applies to what India did to the places mentioned by you above.

India never existed as a country prior to 1947, so your analogy is incorrect. Read below

You need to read a little history before you speak to me .

Whoa! Raising 90 k guys for a specialist formation with all own assets is no joke! Obviously that's the priority form now. You can still start with the IMC on the low-just a brigade to begin with. Imo,that's well within your financial means.

Dual tasked formations have existed for decades.

Yeah, we have started the process of building a marine force.

Here's an article from 2010.
http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/army-and-navy-plan-to-set-up-a-marine-brigade/1/100770.html

As of today we have the capability to move about a brigade to a division to foreign shores. And that's being further enhanced over the next few years. This includes the purchase of new LHDs, fighter aircraft etc.
