Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi on Monday complained of persistent Iranian interference in his country's affairs.

"We've asked our Iranian brothers to reconsider their erroneous policies," Hadi said in an interview published in the Monday edition of London-based daily Al-Hayat. "Our calls, however, have fallen on deaf ears."

Hadi accused Iran of backing secessionist groups in southern Yemen and "religious" movements in northern Yemen – the latter an apparent reference to the Shiite Houthi group.

Recent months have seen several violent confrontations between Houthis and local tribesmen in the northern Saada and Amran provinces. Tribesmen accuse the Shiite militants of seeking to establish control over their territory.

The Houthis are also battling tribesmen and Salafists in several other parts of Yemen, which has been gripped by chaos since the 2012 ouster of long-ruling president Ali Abdullah Saleh.

In Monday's interview, Hadi insisted his country had no desire to escalate the situation with Tehran.

"At the same time, we're hoping Iran will keep its hands off Yemen," he said. "We hope it will stop its support for armed groups."

While Tehran has yet to comment on Hadi's allegations, Iran usually denies Yemeni claims regarding its alleged interference in the country's affairs.

I doubt it. Iran doesnt have any access to Yemen that could be used for supporting either insurgency.

Also, Yemen is a poor, unimportant and backwards shit hole that nobody cares about. They're running out of oil, almost half of their population is unemployed, they have one of the fastest growing populations and they are savages that have no sense of national identity, cohesion or unity. This is why they are at war with themselves.

They are just typical Arabs fighting and killing each other over religion and then refuse to take any responsibility whatsoever for the shit hole they find themselves in. Instead, they blame their disgusting behaviour on other people and everything that is wrong them is all down to a conspiracy by foreigners.

Iran doesnt border Yemen, and has no access to the Houthis in the north. Their war against the Yemeni state is their own war and their own business. Arabs have failed to grasp the fact that when you oppress people and deny them of their freedom to think and believe in what they want, then these people will one day revolt. Thats it.

Stupid people fighting and killing each other over one reason or another, especially religion, is what peninsula Arabs are all about. Iran has nothing to do with it. You do this to yourselves.
