‘Yeh corona kaat-ta kaisay hai?’ Dawn quotes CM Buzdar as asking experts
https://thecurrent.pk/yeh-corona-kaat-ta-kaisay-hai-dawn-quotes-cm-buzdar-as-asking-experts/

With the new coronavirus — COVID-19 — making its way to Punjab and leaving at least 33 infected, people are criticising the Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar-led administration for “lagging behind other provinces” such as Sindh where strict measures are being taken by the provincial government to contain the pandemic.

Amid accusations of what people say is the “inability” of the Punjab government to take the global pandemic seriously, Dawn has quoted CM Buzdar as asking experts that “how does coronavirus bite”.

“A few days ago Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar received a detailed briefing on coronavirus from relevant experts and officials. The purpose was to provide him all the information he required as the chief executive of the largest province, so he could make the right decisions. At the end of the briefing, the chief minister asked a question innocently: ‘Yeh corona kaat-ta kaisay hai? (how does this corona bite)?’,” the report by the English daily’s resident editor, Fahd Husain, claimed.

It further said that “nothing could better illustrate the state of affairs in Punjab today than this simple question asked by the head of the province about a crisis that has nothing simple about it”.

“The gap between the magnitude of the challenge that COVID-19 has thrown and the scale of the response so far is wider than anyone would like to imagine. The reasons are far more numerous than the capacity issues of one provincial chief minister,” the report said.

While the national tally of infections for now stands at 302 with at least two fatalities, globally, 158 countries have been affected, nearly 7,000 people have died and more than 190,000 are infected by COVID-19.

The epicentre of the outbreak has now shifted to Europe, which is recording a rapid rise in new cases every day.

Who do you think provided Dawn News with confidential info from bugged lines???...

Dawn News “broke confidential minutes” of a meeting among the government and military officials on ‘national action plan’ in which the civilians reportedly apprised the military of mounting international pressure of more action against armed groups.

CIA Spying on Pakistan
Amid heightened tensions between Islamabad and Washington, Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau has expressed concern that the CIA has intensified its covert operations in the country under the disguise of USAID, the official U.S. government aid agency.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has unofficially conveyed its apprehensions to some leading security agencies of the country that certain USAID officials, apparently monitoring and executing development work in the tribal areas and in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, are spying for the CIA.

U.S. Embassy spokesman Alberto Rodriquez, however, when contacted said that he has neither heard any such thing nor it is possible that the USAID officials are involved in any kind of espionage. Alberto insisted that there was no basis for such allegations.

Without the involvement of the Government of Pakistan, USAID is directly executing through its choice NGOs including American organizations a number of schemes and projects in the tribal areas and in the KPK province.

Pakistan expels U.S. charities accused of spreading disinformation

DECEMBER 6, 2018 / 4:58 AM / AP

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan is kicking out 18 international charities after rejecting their final appeal to stay in the country, a move that an aid group spokesman said Thursday would affect millions of desperately poor Pakistanis and lead to tens of millions of aid dollars lost.

The majority of the shuttered aid groups are U.S.-based, while the rest are from Britain and the European Union, according to a government list seen by The Associated Press.

Another 20 groups are at risk of also being expelled after authorities a few months ago singled out some 38 international aid groups for closure, without any explanation.

The development is the latest in a systematic crackdown on international organizations in Pakistan, with authorities using every bureaucratic excuse, such as discrepancies in visa and registration documentation, to target the organizations.

Here is Result: Business community went to Army Chief to solve their issues economically n locally.
:smokin::smokin:

The reference was with regards to Pakistani Media (Dawn) and Pakistani NGOs being tools of nefarious agencies of the West... Not about Punjab Buzdar the puppet and figurehead to be manipulated by PTI central...

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar asked a question innocently: ‘Yeh corona kaat-ta kaisay hai? (how does this corona bite)?’,” the report by the English daily’s resident editor, Fahd Husain, claimed.

The Chief Minister was asking what the symptoms of Corona virus. Much is lost in translation as Usman Buzdar is from small village in Southern Punjab.

Much is lost in translation

just when an administrator needs to be clear and concise.

i like your 50000 ijtema thread. it lasted more than 6 pages.

here just a mention of dawn is enough to close the subject but then why cute handsome news from dawn is allowed to be posted?
