The veteran actor Shaan Shahid said about Yalghaar that it "had the aesthetics but no script, story, structure or the knowledge of filmmaking". It was a pity that with so many great stories from Pakistan army, with a reported $5M budget, and a film like Waar as precedent, that the result was botched because of the above mentioned reasons.
