ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday termed Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Pakistan “historic”, saying it would change the destiny of the country.


Talking to the media outside the Parliament House here, the PTI chief said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor was a great reward for the nation and country.


“Pakistan has a bright future and the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor will bring about a revolution. If the CPEC route passes through less developed areas of Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, it will help build up the two provinces,” he added.


He said the corridor should pass through its original shortest route as it would be very beneficial to the whole country, including Punjab, adding that any alteration in the original route would be injustice to Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Chinese and Pakistani officials are talking about Beijing's generosity in providing assistance exceeding $46 billion to Pakistan. But 80% of the funds flowing into Pakistan are meant for building power stations, which will be owned and operated by Chinese companies, sources said.

Pakistani media reported that the country's planning and development minister Ahsan Iqbal said at a seminar in Islamabad that a major chunk of $35-37 billion would go into independent power projects run by Chinese companies. Only $8-9 billion will be given as concessional loans for infrastructure projects, he said.

So the money will flow back into the Chinese companies because the Pakistani government is contract bound to buyback all the electricity produced.

Arrogant, shortsighted, and surrounded with toe lickers. He is financially not corrupt and that is perhaps the only quality he has. According to Haroon Rasheed Saheb, a new political party is soon to be announced. I am eagerly waiting for that.

Just restore peace in Pakistan. PA can do it. things will turn in favour of Pakistan.
