Amazing.....But is the river sustainable? wondering if it would dry out with time due to harsh temperatures and ecology.

Nope the Tamir river has the highest water stress rate of any river in the world. It depletes at a much faster rate than it replenishes. This is a disaster, all this water wasted on a vanity project, the soil itself is a highly saline limiting the type of vegetation to less than a handful of inedible vegetation... so pretty much wasted water.
