Xi Jinping Orders China's Military To Increase 'Real Combat' Awareness

BY Michelle FlorCruz | December 14 2012 11:57 PM

China's Xi Jinping, the present chairman of the ruling Communist Party's Central Military Commission, or CMC, and the future president of the country, ordered the People's Liberation Army, or PLA, to increase its "real combat" awareness in an effort to maintain military preparedness, the official Xinhua news agency reported.

Xi Jinping Orders China's Military To Increase 'Real Combat' Awareness

Xi took over outgoing President Hu Jintao’s roles as the party's general secretary and its CMC chairman after the party's 18th National Congress last month. This made Xi commander in chief of the 2.3 million people currently enlisted in China’s military, the world’s largest. It is anticipated that Xi will assume the post as China’s next president following the formal power transition in March.

Xi wrapped up a five-day tour of Guangdong province -- his first as the new CMC chairman -- after making several high-profile appearances with various members of the military and taking part in several photo opportunities.

According to the South China Morning Post, Xi visited military bases and other facilities located in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Zhuhai. During the tour, he boarded the Haikou, a destroyer in the PLA Navy's South China Sea fleet. He also watched training, participated in facility inspections, and chatted and dined with officers and soldiers.

Military officials released a statement this week highlighting Xi's remarks about beefing up China's combat readiness after Xi's visit to the PLA's Guangzhou military-operations site.

Xi told high-ranking PLA authorities to intensify the training for combat among both commissioned and noncommissioned soldiers, Xinhua said.

He also told them: "Bear in mind that it is the soul of the military to obey the command of the [Chinese Communist] Party without compromise, it is the top priority for the military to be able to combat and win battles, and it is fundamental that the military consolidate itself through governing the troops lawfully and austerely, so as to reinforce its development featuring loyalty to the Party, modernization and standardization."

According to Zhang Lifan, a political-affairs analyst cited by the South China Morning Post, Xi’s recent visits to various military camps and speeches about dedication to the Communist Party are the leader’s way of solidifying his role as the nation’s political and military leader.

Zhang said, "His high-profile visits to various army camps are designed to cement his image as an undisputed leader, not only of the party, but also the army."

The PLA doesn't take orders from Xi, they do their own things.

Why dont you leave and 'do your own thing'. Like help feeding your brothers and sisters over the 38th parallel. Or prepare for their onslaught on Seoul.

Xi Jinping is not wasting any time. A few weeks back he curbed/cut back official ceremonies and entourages to speed up government bureaucracy. Now this. A promising leader so far in my opinion.

.
Not only that but we need an active foreign policy. I think we need to secure our sea lines of communications. It's time to build naval bases to prevent blackmail against China. In addition to building naval platforms, we need to expand our presence and influence. Our energy security is compromised now.

Why not China leave Korea alone? Stop supporting that abomination of a government. Then there would be no need for you to admonish our Korean member about 'help feeding your brothers and sisters over the 38th parallel.'

But if you insist that there must be a 'North Korea' to benefit China, then the burden of feeding the North Koreans BELONGS TO CHINA.

Why should we leave Korea alone?
Korea aswell as countries like Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar have been part of Chinese territory in the past. They will always be part of Chinese influence. East Asia and Southeast Asia are China's backyard whether you like it or not. And as our economic, financial, military and political power grows, we gain more and more influence in these areas. They are part of the greater Chinese civilisation.

Just as SK is carrying the burden paying for the US troops to be stationed on its soil? Oh yes your country is charging the South Koreans big bills for security. Don't like China's support to our neighbor? Then why don't US get the f*ck out of SK let these 2 countries unite (just as they left South Vietnam to its fate and the Vietcongs snatched it away). Look on the bright side after many years US-Vietnam relations has normalized, this could happen too with one Korea.

So now you are using history to claim control? If so, then anyone can use anything to claim control and influence. For US, we will use military power and alliances. You do not like it? Tough doody.

South Korea is healthier and wealthier than North Korea. In that, both countries benefit mutually. As long as the South Koreans want US there, too bad for you so STFU. The argument was why is the burden of feeding the starving North Korea belongs to the South Koreans. Get a clue.

It was same as China was part of Mongolia, Manchus and Japan.:D

I agree the navigation route for our energy supply is at high risks

But where to build our naval bases apart from our coast lines and outlying islands?

that false flagger is indian

The only thing China currently can spank is itself. Get it?

Why would it be bad for me? I don't have anything to complain having US presence in SK nor is China the one paying the US. The argument was not about the burden why South Koreans should be feeding their northern brothers but the troll himself should be doing the feeding suggested by my buddy here so STFU if you want to play twisting words again.

The burden of feeding the North Koreans belongs to all Koreans, regardless of whether they are from the North or South. Oldman, would you starve your own brothers and sisters because you had a nasty spat with them? From your attitude in this forum most likely you would in the name of democracy, freedom and subservience to your white overlords.

By your logic following list of countries can claim China as their own territories.

Mongolia : All of China
Turkey : Northern China. They used to be called the "Huns" and "Goturk"
Japan : Coastal 1/3 of China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Tienjin, Hong Kong, and so on.

They are part of the greater Chinese civilisation.

The US troops are unde ROK command in wartime from 2015 and onward.

Then why don't US get the f*ck out of SK let these 2 countries unite (just as they left South Vietnam to its fate and the Vietcongs snatched it away).
So when was the last time a world class power was defeated and be taken over by starving 3rd world country?

Yes I forgot, the Mongolian and Manchurian conquest of China.

PLA is ready to spank somebody really hard!
You mean be spanked.

The burden of feeding the North Koreans belongs to all Koreans, regardless of whether they are from the North or South.
Of course the ROK is glad to take over the North Korea after the fall of Kim's regime, but it is China that is trying to prevent this by sending oil, food, and money to North Korea.

China getting its hands off North Korea is the best thing it has done in terms of protecting human rights.

Oh, the PLA still doesn't take orders from Xi, BTW.
