Would Nawaz Sharif be more assertive if he gets relected in 2018?

Do you think Civilian power will increase in PAK with successive elections?

As long as Pakistan is under US influence any thing is possible. Its not the institutions that dominates but the persons who suits best to Americans need either a civilian ruler or a dictator. Sadam Gaddafi husni mubarak etc are examples. As long as their interests are met there are no changes but the moment any thing against their wishes whole setup get disturbed.

I doubt it if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be running for the premiership position in 2018. Most likely his brother, Punjab Chief Minister Shabaz Sharif, will campaign for the top job.

Yes except from taking up all of the money coming in Aids and CSF, they are not pro-US at all

Just one question, who would he be able to win the center after losing out in Punjab? given the status quo prevails in other three provinces as well?

Chota vote Bara vote, i was of the opinion to vote for pti for provincial assembly and N-league for center in 2013, until the point IK went full nuts, i know this usually isn't a trend at large which could make possible such a result, but as i said it's an ideal scenario from my POV. Infact recently a by-election in lahore, resulted in winning of N-league in NA and pti in PA.

What fools paradise is this? A government that comes to power to fulfil the ambitions of foreign powers is going to be strong? NO.

a so called government that cannot even get a powerplant to work in three years i.e nandipur will be strong if it wins in 2018? moreover cannot shake off panama scandal either? well I want tickets to that show.

True... Even i expect something major to happen before 30th oct...the day when imran khan decides to do dharna in islamabad... And if it does indeed happen...then those theories abt modi nawaz nexus will be proven true...

i dont think modi will go beyond a certain limit to help nawaz. maximum limit is LOC violation or terrorist attack. he can't jeopardize safety of his country for the sake of nawaz. a third party , however, can easily take advantage of the situation. CPEC is very hard for many countries to digest. US and india are at the top of the list.

Yes...tht is what i meant... I didnt mean tht modi will start full scale war but Something like fake sir ji kal strike drama..or frequent and heavy LOC violations..or a major terrorist attack(God forbid) but anytihing tht will again take the focus back to pak india relations..and everyone will then ask imran khan to call off dharna..so this way, take the pressure off nawaz... I mean something will happen, thts for sure... Not everything will be as cool as it is now...

See what Prime Minister Nawaz ave to say about army... Nawaz Sharif is saving Pakistan army reputation again. Just wait for 5/6 years he will reveal everything himself.

http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/Musharraf+behind+Kargil+war:+Nawaz+Sharif/1/30025.html

Sharif maintained that the war of 1999 had been initiated by Musharraf by attacking India without his knowledge but he (Sharif) had taken "responsibility for everything to save military's reputation and dignity".

"Musharraf attacked Kargil and I had no information about this military operation," the PML(N) president told a meeting of party's general council at Raiwind in Lahore.

"I came to know of it when I got a phone call from Atal Bihari Vajpayee 'saheb'. He asked me -- 'what have you done after I returned from your country with good feelings... Your army has attacked our army'," he said.

Sharif said he then called up Musharraf and the latter confirmed what Vajpayee had said.

Vajpayee had undertaken a bus ride to Lahore on February 19, 1999. The Kargil conflict began three months later.

Apparently hinting that the Pakistan military action had proved to be a disaster, Sharif said, "You all know what were the consequences of that war. Musharraf asked me to contact Clinton and somehow ensure an end to the war."

Sharif said he immediately got in touch with Clinton, whom he described as a "friend". Sharif told Clinton he wanted to meet him the very next day, and the US president agreed to receive him in Washington.
