World’s First ‘Solar Road’ Is Generating Even More Power Than Expected

Well then the government should put a solar tax on them. Solar is bad for nature. Fossil fuels is good for nature. So users of solar should pay a penalty and users of fossil fuels should get a benefit.

Good for our kind of densely populated countries.
I had read this article sometime back.

More than the solar panels the first thing that struck me when I looked at the picture was that so many ppl were riding bicycles.
It's high time we Indians switched to healthy living, and ditched the cars (like they have done in Delhi). Most of the Indians put on weight around their waist- reason? No exercise. Diabetes and high cholesterol(BP et al) soon follow.
Btw I don't consider going to gym as healthy.
Sorry for the off topic, but I really think that it's easier for us, human beings, to switch to solar panels, but impossible to give up on our luxury vehicles and spoilt habits.

when you say 21% efficient what is the ideal scenario i.e 100%?

The ideal scenario: converting 100% solar energy to electric power, roughly 1000W/M2.

If there is cloud it's only like 20 W / m2. Only at the equator when there is no cloud does it ever get close to 1000 W / m2.
