With 89pc, Pakistan tops the list of most patriotic nations in Asia: Gallup

is this survey about percentage of battalions who are willing to fight for the country?

Nah mate, just wondering why your keyboard is more patriotic than a Muslim or Christian's keyboard.
It's not because of the color is it?

.
Not surprised, good to see. India I was surprised at 75%, that seems lower than the last survey.

Holy@Japan with only 11%, and some posters here think that Japan will get together with an alliance to fight China, yep pull the other one....

According to the latest survey conducted by Gallup, Pakistan topped the list of most patriotic nations in Asia leaving behind India, Bangladesh and China.

World Index shared the results of the survey on its Twitter handle in which Pakistan is at the top with 89pc with Vietnam in the second place with the same percentile.

ASIA: Willing to fight for the country:

Pakistan: 89%

The survey is about "willing to fight for country" but the title claims something totally different.

Bangladesh with 86pc and Afghanistan with 76pc are at the third and fourth position respectively, while with 75pc, India is at the fifth place.

Furthermore, China is at eighth position with 71 pc. as Japan is at the bottom of the list with 11pc.

It is important to note that Pakistan also topped the list in 2017 with the same 89 per cent.

This is pure hypocrisy. Pakistanis are not patriotic. How can a patriotic nation not pay its taxes, will try to find short cuts either through bribes or using relationships to get the job done. will swindle money to harm its nation, will steal electicity, will harm its trees, will harms its animals at the smallest level. Patriotism means to serve the nation. This is pure hypocrisy and lying on the face where the nations every individual has harmed its home land.

Ah damn Japs...
They used to be a honorable people who lived and died for a code.

Till they were subjugate and dishonored to distracted and disillusioned folk who have no sense of honor or loyalty anymore, except self preservation...

.
yes i would say that. Only it would be imposible for most nations to invade india considering we are the 4th largest millitary power in the world.

The region which you are from has hosted the hugest population throughout history.

How many times did these people succeed in thwarting any invading force?

Irony is that the most developed country in Asia has lowest number of citizens willing to die for it, perhaps because willing to die for your country is just one measure of patriotism. Also the Japanese might have the philosophy that they are willing to live for their country and make it a model country for others to follow. I'd much rather have that than Bhutto Shaheed, Benazir Shaheed etc etc etc

.
I don't know which one is worse? A nation willing to fight for the country with no sense of developing the homeland VS a nation with a sense of developing the country but no will to fight for it.

But, the best one would be strong sense of development and fight for homeland.

India's figures are probably low because of the Muslims.

It's good to see that most of them appear to also consider themselves Muslim first, alhamdulillah.
Muslim first no doubt.

But nation is important too. Just that the current republic of India has failed to protect Muslims. Hence it deserves no allegiance.

Good observation btw.

If you noticed, there is a strong correlation between walth and patriotism. Wealthier countries are generally less patriotic than poorer countries. India is wealthier than pakistan, afghanistan, bangladesh, and about on par with vietnam. China is wealthier than any country in south asia but poorer than korea and japan, and this list shows that.

Wealth is an important factor but I don't think it's the only one. Afghanistan is poorer than India/Pakistan but appears to be less patriotic. Korea is wealthier than Japan but is far more patriotic according to this survey, probably due to their hostilities with North Korea & conversely for Japan; the fallout from WW2.

Patriotism means nothing if as a nation we dont have our priorities sorted out.

countless times. India was never succesfully invadedd by any power untill the 10th century ce. Even then the mughals ruled north india for only a couple centuries before getting defeated by the marathas. Whereas modern day pakistan was ruled by every power passing through and never had any notable indiginous empire.

What the heck is wrong with japanese people gees... Oh i remember they were nuked for that! They wont ever fight a war in 100 years.

I think its smart. War is bad.

Do you have any evidence or proof of your claims?
