Windows 10 Launched!! Who's gonna Try??

so lot of work coming our way in the area of application development and migration...! but for the normal users of the OS, I think, MS has been fooling people and making huge profits thru licensing... I don't see sky difference between Windows 98 and Windows 7..from users perspective! the frequency of launching new OS has narrowed down over the years and I guess MS is going to loose it credibility sooner or later!

Does anyone know why Windows skipped 9 and moved to Windows 10? I heard they still have many OS codes where it checks for '9' due to Windows 95 and 98 and can't be changed.

Lets wait for the reviews... Windows 8 killed my performance on launch

Windows 10 previews build will be out next week to the subscriber's of Insider's program. There are already 1.7 million people who have registered for the program. So sign up, if you would like to get access to the preview builds. These are early binaries so there are still some kinks and wrinkles to the OS. They will be sorted out by the time the OS will be available to public as a subscription. The exact date of the release is not decided but late summer-early autumn will be a good time frame to expect a public release.
If you like Windows 8, you will love Windows 10. It's about the ecosystem - Universal apps across devices, shared app experiences, enhanced productivity, cortana integration. And yes, Hololens is killer. 8-)

Not entirely true. While it's true that the version number 9 was skipped to avoid clash with 95 and 98 due to codes that checked for version using "starts with", these codes are part of various win32 apps that run on the OS, not the kernel itself. There are a number of these apps developed by various vendors over the years.
Having said that, we could have easily named the product Windows 9 and kept the "version" as 10 to avoid any conflicts with those apps.

Quadro FX 3500 (hate it a lot because it doesn't work on Linux distributions)

Like win XP, now is the era of Windows 7. Most of the people will stick with Windows 7 for a long time, until something better comes up. Windows 8 was a big disappointment, and since windows 10 is based in 8, I'm gonna stick with 7.. :D
Windows 7 just have all those glowing windows and animations. Windows 8 was fast, secure and flexible. I have tried Windows10 preview. It has lots of bugs and issue but it is still better. You may want to try public version of Windows 10 once.

Will wait for the verdict from experts. Windows 7 is doing fine so far.

What's Windows XP??? Never heard of it! :P

And here's a review of Windows 10. Crashed 3 times in 10 minutes!!!!! Jeeez! :o:

I ain't moving out of Win 7 Ultimate. Period!
Really? You've never heard of windows xp? It's the best OS microsoft has ever produced. Also, Win 10 is still under development, and only the preview build has been released, of course there are going to be crashes. This shouldn't be surprising.

Win 10 hasn't launched yet, the title is misleading, it only has a preview build available.

installed window 7 , liked it so much that decided not to go for win 8, just looked at win8 at some pc , seemed childish or unimpressive
Win 8 was 1 step forward, and 2 steps back. Win 10 seems to have been made specifically to fix the bullshit that Win 8 introduced.

With it being free for everyone who has win 7, 8, and 8.1, there is no excuse to not at least try it with dual booting.

Shite, I'm still struggling with windows 8.1
