What's new

will the local balochs get jobs as a result of gawadar port deal?

A significant percent of taxes from Gwadar, and other Baluch resources, should be set aside to build infrastructure in Baluchistan: transport, schools, hospitals, universities, public housing, etc.

Make sure the money benefits the local people directly, instead of sardars or outsiders.

Pakistan is probbly the only country where peopel think its their right to get more Biryani in their plate becasuse they happen to be born close to the Biryani Deghchi ..

Does not happens else where people flow in and out of provinces/states depending on merit and job openings

If birayani is cooked in village XYZ , then first residents of that village XYZ are supposed to eat it unless that birayani degchi is intended for some distant village ABC.
It happened in karak, huge reservoirs of natural gas were when discovered there, its supply was immediately planned for lahore and rest of punjab, the local area was totally ignored. But people of karak who are khattaks, are very educated people. They took the matter to the court and it was decided that natural gas would be supplied to karak first.

stick to the topic we are discussing the baloch participation in gwadar port, which has nothing got to do what happened in karak, if you so desire open another thread and stop littering every other thread with your racist BS

I do know that sardars do not promote education but do they prevent people from getting education?
Is there any sardar of your tribe and what kind of person he is?

how is a local baloch able to get education when a sardar who is practically a king in his dera is not building any schools and colleges?

why a sardar who practically own every body in the dera is not able to promote education, if he is not doing that then practically he is holding everybody in his dera from education? is he not?

how many even colleges are there in dera bugti forget how many universities are there, and how is the poor baloch able to get educated if he doesnt get the facility in his own area?

Let's say someone discovered massive oil deposits near your town.

Now let's say the Americans (just a random example, don't read anything into it) came and built oil refinery and other facilities in your town, but they only hired fellow Americans. No jobs or benefit to the locals who get discriminated against because of racism. Only a ridiculously tiny price is paid to the mayor for the oil (who pockets most of it anyway) and all the profits go back to America.

Do you think that would be OK?

Sardar is a central figure in baloch society, like it or not. You cant ignore sardars while discussing balochs. They may not be interested in building schools, colleges , universities in their areas but so are all the MNA/MPA all over the country, who also do not have any records of building institutions on their own money. I dont think if Governament of Pakistan announces a university in dera bugti or sibi, then sardar there would oppose it, they cant even if they want to.
Also you win the hearts of balochs by winning the hearts of their sardars. Give their sardars money , power and authority and the baloch population would be loyal and peaceful citizens of Pakistan. If you humiliate and kill their sardars and make fun of their ways of life, then you are doing nothing but provoking balochs to anger.
But i think sardars may not have control over new generation angry educated baloch youth who are not ignorants of the facts. An angry educated baloch is more dangerous than an illiterate blind follower of sardar. Simply education shouldnt be the priority, hand over complete control of all natural resources of balochistan to locals. The province should be made full autonomous region within Pakistan. It is not a big price to pay to ensure integrity of Pakistan.

Disagree with autonomy. We want to create a closely knit Pakistan with national unity, not a collection of autonomous states.

Also, on sardars, federal government should talk directly to people and build hospitals, schools, housing so the people are guaranteed to benefit and nobody can pocket the money. Any sardar who opposes schools and hospitals for his people will have some explaining to do.

I didnt talk about all provinces as autonomous states, only balochistan should be the special case. And its not a big deal, we have examples of united states, united kingdom etc. If we go by your logic then one unit should be ideal for national unity but we all know that it did more harm than good and gave rise to ethnic nationalism in sindh, balochistan and KPK...
Making baloch people pakistanized is not a priority, their wishes, prosperity and development should be priority. If granting autonomy can end their separatist movement, heal their wounds and go in accordance with their wishes then its not a big price to pay. I am sure that wide-hearted punjabis aka big bros can survive if they can no longer taste resources of balochistan.

According to your "superior" logic, why not change Pakistan's name to Punjabistan?

Give them schools, give them faciiities, bring them at par with "THE GREAT PUNJAB" and then talk about equality @ work (see image below for justice / equality).... Their territory, their rules... simple as that... it's a "federation" try to understand THE meaning of it.

So that your mind can comprehend what I am saying, try to deduct a conclusion from the image below.... the small kid is "Balochistan" the kid with average height is "KPK" and the tall one is "Punjab" which has been having all the fun with GOD GIVEN resources of the other TWO, and has grown TALL...

No priority shriority , you get educated first !!!! and get your act straight enough of this I am born here I am first

No ... you get educated first get degree and show ambition and certainly base on merit
