LAHORE (Dunya News) – Minister for Interior Rana Sanaullah while admitting on Monday said that the candidates nominated by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the by-election had the burden of performance of the previous government due to which the candidates could not get full support even from the party voters and the people of PML-N did not defend them but they will choose better candidates in the next election.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore flanked by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Monday, Rana Sanaullah while lashing out at former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan said that a mentally sick man is crying for rigging despite winning the election.
The minister also accused the former PM of rigging in election held in his tenure and said that the election staff was kidnapped when Imran Khan was in power, adding that now he is targeting the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC). The former PTI government set new records of election rigging during its tenure, he said.
He said that the PML-N strongly condemns this campaign, adding that you [PTI chairman] cannot get your point by bullying and blackmailing institutions.
“The CEC and all his members have the confidence and support of the entire nation,” he said adding that they were still expressing confidence in the ECP in spite of losing the by-election.
Further launching the diatribe against Imran Khan, he said that the PTI chairman is using such language as the judgment of the foreign funding case was reserved by the commission.
The Interior Minister went on to say that the former PM is levelling baseless allegations of election rigging despite being clear victory in yesterday by-elections in Punjab and expressed confidence that the PML-N coalition government ensured free, fair and transparent by-elections in the province.
Rana Sanaullah Khan said that allied parties will jointly decide about holding next general elections which will be free, fair and transparent like yesterday s by-elections.
Regarding the number game in Punjab, the minister said that currently PTI has 188 votes while the PML-N had 180 votes, and asked what Pervaiz Elahi would do if five MPs didn’t show up on the day of vote (July 22).

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former president and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday met Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and took him in confidence over decisions taken in the meeting of ruling alliance.
Asif Zardari met Chaudhary Shujaat at his residence and the meeting continued for over an hour, in which matters pertaining to the political situation in Punjab came under discussion.
The family members of the PML-Q chief were also present in the meeting.
The PPP co-chairman left Shujaat Hussain s residence making a sign of victory.

SOME PML-Q MPAS BEING CONTACTED BY GOVT, QURESHI TELLS PERVAIZ ELAHI
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice-Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi has apprised Pakistan Muslim League Quaid top leader Pervaiz Elahi that some lawmakers of PML-Q were contacted by the coalition government, ARY News reported on Wednesday.
Sources told ARY News that Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Pervaiz Elahi held an important meeting ahead of the Punjab Chief Minister (CM) elections on July 22. Qureshi apprised Elahi regarding his concerns over the Asif Ali Zardari-Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain meeting.
“Some PML-Q lawmakers remained in contact with the coalition government. The leaders should not hold meetings with anyone till July 22. Zardari-Shujaat meeting creates suspicions,” said the PTI vice-chairman.

Elahi responded to Qureshi’s queries, saying that Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain could not be stopped from meeting anyone.
Qureshi said that the unity of the lawmakers of the ally parties was necessary to elect Pervaiz Elahi as the Punjab CM. He insisted that PML-Q should avoid holding meetings with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari during his stay in Lahore.

In another development today, sources told ARY News that the meeting between former president Zardari and Hussain will most likely be cancelled after a policy statement issued by the PML-Q chief.
During Tuesday’s meeting, Zardari gave Hussain one day to think over his stance over the chief minister’s elections.
Shujaat told the former president yesterday that Pervaiz Elahi is the party’s candidate for Punjab chief minister’s office, sources said.

Shujaat Hussain in a policy statement issued today announced Pervaiz Elahi as the PML-Q candidate for the top provincial office.
This statement has rendered Zardari’s meeting with Chaudhry as aimless, according to sources. “People’s Party has not yet confirmed the meeting fixed for today,” sources said.
“Entire family has been active for election of Pervaiz Elahi as the chief minister of the province”.
Moonis Elahi and Hussain Elahi have been entrusted the task to contact with members of the assembly, sources added.

In his policy statement today, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said the right to rule belongs to a party, which has been given a mandate by the people of the province.
Pervaiz Elahi is the candidate for Punjab’s chief minister ship of PML-Q, he made it clear and added it’s not a matter of degrading someone but the survival of the country lies in focusing on the problems of the masses.
Shujaat said he is not going to release any letters regarding the Punjab CM election process and also stressed the need for immediate general elections in the country.

A few days of merry-making by PTI will not harm PDM, as you are still our folks.
Some suggest Governor's rule and some clipping the wings of the belligerent SC. Within the next few days, interesting events will start to emerge. The focus will be on the NA session from tomorrow.
I don't see smooth sailing for poor Pervaiz Elahi.

See problem with this ignorant Patwari gene pool is that it's not even ashamed of robbing people's mandate. Patwari gene is so corrupt that it thinks it's totally fine to reject votes of 10 Pmlq members of assembly based on an SC ruling. And when SC overrules this BS, Patwari gene pool instead of accepting their mistake, threatens SC to restrict its constitutional powers from again countering Patwari shenanigans in the assembly. Such is the bizarre and twisted nature of Patwari Dheetism
