There is another way to look at this. Pakistan would show no interest in a Russian weapon of such sensitivity unless Russia was willing to sell it in principle. The issue is not whether we would buy it or can even afford to buy it but if the Russians, in principle, have no objection in selling it. That is a huge strategic/policy shift.

HQ-9 is something PA should buy, I hope China and Pakistan can negotiate a deal .. just like we always do, we do need a good 3 level Air Defense System ..

Some say Pakistan already has it secretly. Personally I don't think we have it (I could be wrong). But yea we should get it if we do not have it.

Nobody can honestly say, with any certainty, that they have full knowledge of what goes on in govt circles. What we do here is mere conjecture and mental masturbation. It exercises the brain and kills a few hours. However, a point to ponder is this. If Russia agreed to sell the s400 in principle to Pakistan right after it has sold it to India, now what would that do to the self-esteem of Indians? You host the US 7th fleet? Russia will make you suffer for that.

Russians are all about the money, all the garbage about not willing to sell is purely for indian consumption just like the their defence ministry denied any military exercises in Pakistan but went ahead and did them anyways after forcing india to sign various purchase contracts. Talk about shrewd business. So if Pakistan really wants any weapons platform from Russia, they'll be more than happy to sell it. Having said that, secrecy is compromised since those same russians can happily secret sensitive information about what we've purchased from them to india for the right price. How do we know this? Let's just say a lot of what you think are naval and mki secrets aren't secrets anymore. Therefore we would prefer to stick with domestic and Chinese weapons platforms, Russia is at the bottom of our list of potential suppliers.

From where did Pakistan manage to finance it's following defence related projects, which involved massive acquisitions:

a) Nuclear Program;

b) Missiles development Program - Ballistic, Cruise, etc;

c) JF-17 Program;

d) Nuclear Submarine Program.

Yes, you don't know. You will never be able to balance out the books if you try to match how much we spent versus how much the official records show as being allocated to defence budget.

Future defence needs will be financed through same undisclosed sources.

They ignore the fact that literally billions of dollars are sent to 'super rich India' from 'poverty stricken Pakistan' every year. What was it in 2015? Around $5 billion? Indians refuse to see the obvious in that movement of capital. If a country like Pakistan still stays afloat while leaking billions, imagine what we can squeeze out when we need to? It's simple really. Indians like to think that in Pakistan we barter goats and sheep as currency.

Actually we are getting GLONASS base station in India so its not a good idea for Pakistan to buy Russian weapons even if you have any money.
