What's new

Will new Chinese artillery rival US weapons?

I guess you don't understand what a reverse slope is .... never mind please carry on.

Also an M777 can be slung under a Chinook in 90 - 180 seconds depending on crew training and conditions (wind, weather, light, altitude). The M777 is designed for mobility and mountain warfare moving it from one peak to another isn't a problem.

Yes American doctrine is outdated, I really hope you work for the PLA as their Chief Grand Maesters of Doctrine
It's not I don't know what's reverse slope but it more of you do not know how ballistic missile work. You think reverse sloped is some magical hurdle in modern warfare?

Indeed US doctrine is outdated. Like how they abandon Zumalt destroyer concept and go for AB flight III which intend to rival PLAN 055 destroyer.

Same as US now going for more precision strike ballistic missile for conventional attack which is copying of what PLA been doing for 20 years.

Finally, US slapped its own face when they are now going for Pershing III ASBM program which they initially claim ASBM is not possible. While China already has working DF-21 and DF-26 ASBM in service. :enjoy:

No one is copying China, the Army is just picking up where it was prior to the INF Treaty in the 1980s.

What!? You want to shoot a ballistic missile at a M777 artillery?

China didn’t invent ASBM the Russians did in 1973, they tested it but couldn’t operationalize it because it would violate bilateral US Soviet treaties. I never heard of Pershing III ASBM.

China do not favour tradition artillery that lack mobility. That is why the Chinese AH-4 remains an export product and never adopted.
With modern arty counter radar. Enemy arty firing position can be easily spotted. M777 maybe light and easily deploy on mountain area buts it's seating duck if u met modern opponent who pack plenty of advance counter radar. Once they locate your spot and fire precision MRL and u are dead meat.

That is a why China will phased out all tradition arty in next 5-10years and stick with wheel or track SPH.
Unless you can get a truck mounted artillery on the mountain tops, its not going to replace something like the M777.

Do u know a full titanium M777 cost how much a piece?

Not sure how accurate Soviet ASBM is. From what I know , in the 70s . There are still many hurdle not clear to make it work. But Chinese seems to mature it and demonstrate few months ago to make it operation.

US is interested to pursue ASBM and may restart from Pershing II basics.

"Pershing III is also a proposal for a coast-based missile system to counter the Chinese DF-21D anti-ship ballistic missile.[29]"

Latest American artillery solutions have demonstrated precision in the order of mm. Not joking.

Artillery is the last thing that matter to a war with the US, unless, of cause, you count missiles as artillery

True. That conflict is naval and air, mostly.

Though artillery is very important for mountain warfare against India.

What not said can well be the mosterest important part of any warfare against India be that in the mountains or against their tanks. Will the Indian much touted India’s heaviest battle tanks T90 be having great fun with these Chinese toys that will meet them even before the Chinese light tanks?

And those toys be coming to you in AI backed swarms.

Hmmm... So too will Muricans be facing those Chinese swarms as well.

You feeling lucky? :pleasantry::pleasantry::pleasantry:

So start that war with China.

China will bring that war to those that brought the war to an end.

As if China don't? Check out those video of PL-181. All the rounds hit the bull mark of a very small marking.
Why not?

China might well have more ballistic missiles than USA have M777 :D :D :D :yay: :yay: :yay:
Those SY400 ballistic missile are cheap ordinance non strategic, they are cheap to be produced and has 400km range. Just like Iran Fateh 111 ballistic missile.

I can bet 4 of these SY 400 ordinance is even price lower than a full titanium M777.

The US has no plans for ASBM the wiki reference you provided is just the published thoughts of a retired LT Col of the US Army.

I am not just alluding to CEP of projectiles but a new class of (surface-to-surface) missiles.

That was the level of accuracy of the ATACMS demonstrated years ago.

PrSM is able to land at the very center of a designated target zone even if located hundreds of KM away.

PrSM will replace ATACMS for use in HIMARS among others in the coming years.

As if China don't have. You do know China has ASAT and it achieved it kill thru kinetic energy without explosive warhead. It need to be so precise to achieved the kill against the high speed target.
