if they successfully get this bird operational,yes it will affect the F-35's sale,
on the other hand F-35 program is prone to cancellation as well,
it's all the matter of time!

however J-31 program has a long long way to go unlike F-35,

Its got every thing from electronic,Avionics,Radar,Ram coating except engine its same its obtain my Industrial espionage and from Israhell help .
China Hack all R&D of US new Generation weapons system and its at par with US .
But After getting every thing by Espionage it still you have to be smart to implement from paper to real model and we all know they are very smart they dont believe in re inventing wheel .

the money involved in the program is beyond the cancellation point, JSF will see more delays but can't be cancelled, too many countries have too much stake on it..the entire USAF,USMC, USN and a plethora of european airforces have based their future on this aircraft

But how is that possible? J-31 is still nowhere in sight.

Even if we take a near future term perspective, the Chinese government is still not offering J-10 jets itself to anyone other than Pakistan.

How will it sell its cutting edge 5th generation jet to foreign countries when it is not even ready to sell its previous generation jet to anyone else?

According to our experts, China will produce J-31 (superior version) for the PLAAF domestic use and a customized version for export (F60).

For that guy who said J-31 is in conceptual stage. That is stupid beyond words.
