This old warship, the BRP Sierra Madre, a 100m amphibious vessel built for the US in 1944 and acquired by the Philippine Navy in 1976, grounded in the late 1990s is the first line of defence of the Philippines.

The Philippines´s Secretary Gazmin declared recently that the marines will stay where they are and fight to the last man. “We will fight for what is ours up to the last soldier standing,” he vowed.

This is a sneaky unscrupulous move by the pinoys having to ground a rusty vessel on the reefs and then to claim sovereignty while we were not watching some years ago

If the territory is yours you dont need to do this in an underhanded way. Shameful! You have already announced to the world Renai-jiao doesnt belong to the Pinoys

The last thing you want to do is impose a blockade and prevent any American ships from going in to supply the Pinoys as you say. Germans learned the hard way.
