In the highly unlikely event of worlwide embargo against china, it is to be noted that china's internal market is strong enough for it to survive.

on the other hand PLA military ships on Taiwan strait have pretty low probability to survive from cruise missile with backing of west,,, again internal strife and CCP will lose.

Any Chinese invasion will come at a cost....which will be even higher if Taiwan gets outside (US, NATO, Australia etc) help. Now it's up to the Chinese leadership, political and military, to decide whether the cost will be worth the conquest...

We're not living in a age where any country can just roll over another. Given the location of Taiwan to China, it'll be a lot easier for the Chinese to annex Taiwan than for China to annex something much further away from its sphere of influence. Even then, that annexation will come with body bags and heightened international aggression against China, along with other short-term and long-term costs.

The issue isn't just about the "Taiwanese Army"....it's a multidimensional 3d chess.....the reason why Taiwan still exists and will continue to exist for the foreseeable is because the risks of annexing Taiwan are much greater than the benefits.

China can't afford heightened international awareness of its geopolitical ambitions. It has more important issues to worry about, like the SCS & the Coronavirus, than annexing Taiwan.

You're also forgetting the financial constraint a war has on any economy. Even a joke army will be expensive to put down unless China decides to fire/bomb/destroy indiscriminately, which will be very inhumane.

In the past I have spoken to many Taiwanese people and they have accepted the reality China would be too powerful to defend against if Beijing choose to attack. The only counter to this threat is the involvement of the American's which is the only reason why Beijing never attacked in the past. Besides what's the point firing a bullet when you can get the Taiwanese themselves to join China due to the nature of their political system. China just needs to play the waiting game.
