India's new prime minister Narendra Modi will be sworn in on Monday following his party's success at the recent general election.

The Hindu nationalist has been attributed with attracting voters from both urban and rural areas and shattering caste and identity politics in India.

The BBC met some of the people who shunned traditional voting patterns to help bring him to power.

Muslims didnt vote for Modi excluding Bohris in Gujarat and some shias in UP. They only reason why modi won in Muslim areas was because Muslim vote got split. In hyderabad MiM won every seat because they had no Muslim opponents.

Shia , Bohra, Ahmedi Voted for Modi.. Only hardliners like sunni didn't voted for Modi.. Shia/Ahmedi and Bohras are good people...

I know Shia and Ahmedi are different, But they are most liberal Muslim on earth. They are educated, well mannered. They keep less babies , there kids are educated..

They give positive contribution to nation development.... India need such ppl. (India don't need rioters of Uttar Pradesh)
