Yep, the first question that comes to mind is… what’s the first reason? Or you might have a list of them… but let me give you OUR reason… or more specifically, MY reason being the author of this article.
A couple of months back I was holidaying in India, it’s really quite easy to get trapped into the whole “mysterious” east and the home of the Taj Maha -> one of the seven wonders of the world and all that bollocks, sad to say… I was one of the people who fell for it hook, line and coach plane tickets (they pay me far less that I am worth here… ).

I guess part of me wanted to know if that sexy accent ( ) they have is just for our benefit here.. or is it natural? so went directly to the source to check it out.

To cut a long trip story short: place is as dirty as you see on Discovery channel and far less interesting… plus the Taj Mahal sucks unless you’re one of these people who look at architecture and go awwww! I could have gotten the whole experience by just downloading a Discovery or National geographic ep on India minus the long plane trip,smell and irritaton.

Being the geek that I am, a little way into my holiday I just had to get on the net to check mail so headed to one of the local net cafes… fer f#cks sake, snails crawling on their copper wires would have been going faster than the speed I was getting and that too just to check my mail… but that’s STILL not the reason why India sucks… while waiting for my mail to load, I thought I might as well check other “things” too.. so loaded up a **** site (like you do when waiting for mail to load… well, if YOU don’t, you’re abnormal… get yourself checked!) surprisingly one of the sites loaded and while browsing through it this moron who works there for a salary less than what a person gets for flipping burgers here comes and starts chastising me (in THAT accent) and telling me if I don’t browse away from the site he is going to kick me out! Apparently one of his job’s parameters is to walk around each of the small cubicle thingies there and check if anybody is browsing ****!
Since my mail was not loading I shut down anyway, told him his Mickey mouse laws didn’t apply to me and I was not going to sit there taking that from a moron like him, gave him the finger and walked out with my head high… ( another reason why foreigners are loved in Asia) but for some reason I felt like I just got caught with my hand in the cookie jar!

Pathetic and ironic for a country with a population more than the entire population of Europe & the US combined (over 1.1 billion.. and growing!) to chastise others for watching stuff that got them into the population crisis they are in today… maybe they should be watching more **** and “shooting the ceiling” instead of churning out more kids, I mean; aren’t they enough call centers already? And don’t tell me western culture is just dirty while they are not; you gotto remember this is the country that gave the world the Kama sutra… although they could have done with a few drawing lessons, thats still a lot more positions than you are ever likely to encounter watching todays ****.

It’s not all bad though, I did get to do a few things that I can’t hope of ever doing here… like openly bribing two cops on two different occasions, around $3 each! (And that isn’t a typo… I do mean three bucks) Damn! That was good, unfortunately no way to really document it coz its kind of hard to ask a cop you are tipping/bribing if you can snap a pic of your bribing him…

Ok, now that I have finished my personal rant… on to the other reason why India sucks:

The news is India’s home ministry has threatened to ban the Blackberry unless it is given unconditional access to any and ALL of the info passing on RIM’s network… why? Since they have no possible reason to chuck people’s privacy right out the window they turn to the best and most trendy excuse that governments are now using to hack away at peoples freedoms:

“To monitor terrorism and terrorist activities”.

While so far few details have emerged on their negotiations (as from what we hear RIM initially told them to go f#ck themselves… in a much more polite fashion and not using the words we used) things seem to be coming to a conclusion with RIM making a few concessions to stay in the market, just how huge each concession is only time will tell as both sides are playing their cards pretty close to their chests.

We do hope RIM holds on to their ethics rather than become another Yahoo! helping China…. like we said, only time will tell.

You watch **** in a internet cafe, which is illegal doesn't matter if Kamasutra was made here or Naughty America.So you basically break law and just because you are a geek(don't know when that became cool) you decide to give the person who was just following the law the finger. And frankly I am glad India does that, I would prefer they read my mails than hearing everyday that 100 people died here and there. But you in your infinite judgment decided since you have top secret stuff in your blackberry that lives of millions of people are not enough. I call that Strike three.

I dont really understand why you posted that article, anyone who reads that would know how stupid it is. I think you were trying to appease the mass here at PDF by trying to bash India and have failed spectacularly. There were so many topics you could have chosen which I would have supported like:

1. DRDO incompetence
2. Caste Reservation
3. Literacy Rate
4. Poverty

But you will have to actually research for these things and actually suggest what can be done to improve and that would be so much effort

Thank you. This has nothing to do with Pakistan. Even the Indian defence topics that have something to do with Pakistan should be posted here. We've said this time and again that this is an international forum based upon the subject of Pakistan. Subject of Pakistan being its top most requirement.

Asim : I don't see that rule being applied to the BD section of this forum. Why, even "BD-Myanmar thread" in that section has only india bashing (forget Myanmar -- the subject of the thread).

All countries are at different stages of growth and development. The only country that suck is the one that believe that it is way ahead of everyone and has no need to grow. That would be the US. US is the one country that has the power to bring peace but is allow countries like Iran to push it around. Bush and Obama are two big wuss that can't take care of business. Point here is : We talk about moon voyages and nuclear capabilities. Yet, here we are, called one of the most corrupt nations of the world with pathetic infrastructure available at rural places... One of our national pride, still has crappy/****** surrounding's. s3x is still consider a taboo .. subject to censorship... we can go on and on ... point is ... we DO suck big time.
