Why We Should Keep Sheikh Hasina in Power

Bangladesh does not have any real party apart from Awami League. The other party BNP suffers from having no specific ideology and vision. It lacks powerful leader. After Khaleda era is over there is Tareque Zia who is a criminal convicted with life in jail verdict from court. There is no leader left to rule the party.

It is true that Bangladeshis in majority actually are Islamic Conservative people. Among conservative people there are ultra Conservative. These folks support Jamaat E Islami and other right wing religious party.

BNP is supported by those who hate Awami League and India. There is actually no affection for Khaleda or Tareque. It is only because they dislike Awami League hence there support the alternative BNP but in Bangladesh the real mainstream party is only Awami League which had historical significance for the birth of Bangladesh.

Awami League will find its leader but BNP will find it difficult to lead the party if Tareque Zia does not become chairperson.

So even 2008 caretaker govt was illegal ? So what is legal ? Only when BNP wins ? @Skies

I am now surprised why @Nilgiri consider you as impartial? If you are impartial , then who is partisan?

In broader BD economy/history...yes I consider @Skies to be an asset to this forum as he is quite neutral and wants the hard facts/data for assertions (that others take automatically as true based on their emotions first).

As it relates to BNP vs BAL etc....I also largely agree with him that BD should not suppress whatever political character it wants to have for some bloc of years (whichever way). Suppressing such stuff long term (for the nonsense of "stability" that SHW is mostly squandering imo).... needs high, sustained investment into the military and authoritarian control (to the level done in China)....and your country knows (by its very founding/liberation story) why that is bad idea given Bengali people temperament/nature. Can you just forego fundamental rights (to at least choose the people that extract money from you by the gun) and hope the govt propaganda pans out for the better...by putting them before yourselves always? Generally BD people cannot do that....you have seen the emotion here for yourself.

This is why BD must improve its institutions....but this election sadly is indicating it will not happen anytime soon....BD people will in the end have to decide what must be done about that.

I have said the same to @Al-zakir and other pro-BNP members that no longer post as much or at all (because of the BAL mob formed here).

Bd is a morally and ethically a corrupted country. I have no interest in Bd matter now a days. I can speak the same for other like minded Bd members. Thanks

Well this was pretty easy to predict. While BNP / Jamaat members were making noise on this forum, it was plain to see on the ground that people were not motivated enough to move against the establishment.

Who would give their blood to fight for an ineffective leader in prison and her corrupt son abroad 'remote controlling' his party.

Since the result, I've seen BNP leaders on TV admitting that lack of leadership, lack of policy vision and diluting of the party through partnership with jamatis and independents has demotivated the core support.

There has probably been some cheating as always but i do believe the outcome is what the majority of people wanted.

No disagreement here . The argument was started from another thread . Everyone knows that this election is worst type of theft. I said that there are some gaps in our constitution as nothing can be perfect. I just showed that BNP Jamat did exactly the same thing in 2001 but did he raise his finger to armed forces that time? But about 2008 even under caretaker govt that is illegal according to him. And now Bangladesh is no longer a sovereign state and it's under Indian control, it is his position ! That type of statement only show their weakness.

When they are in power , then everything is neutral , and when the opposition is in power in the same process ( in 2008 case ) , then it's illegal ! Make no sense .
Sounds no better than BAL cult members.

The real problem is intolerant culture. Our parties intend to annihilate opposition directly using some flaws of democracy .
Like AL did this time, and after 2001 BNP tried to do, there was anarchy and resulting the 1/11 . What is his position on 2001 election ? IMHO only 1991 and 1996 election was fair in Bangladesh, and all others were rigged in a certain degree.
But it seems none of my compatriots are ready to accept the fact.
