So TTP went live in 2005. 4 years after NATO invasion. 4 YEARS!

What could have been done in this 4 years? How many lives saved? How much PR saved?

Who had the clever idea of doing nothing on the Afghan border knowing that a war is taking place? This pretty much sums it up.

Non country in the world has enough resource to secured such a porous border.\

So it took them 14 years just to build border crossings??:lol:

This is not about resource, you do the bare necessities to secure your country. It's not like Pakistan is in EU and bordered with f**king Switzerland that you don't need to military checkpoint and to secure the border :lol:

ISI didn't care to think it would create space for proxy warfare?

These border check point has little impact of ongoing insurgency on both side of border. Still a suicide bomber start its journey from Afghanistan easily hit the target in Lahore and Sindh. A very organized chain of handlers in Pakistan. A timeless and limitless operation in Pakistan.

It is possible to seal the border you just need the political will which pakistan has never had.If the Chinese can build the great wall on rugged terrain thousands of years ago which is massively longer than the pak-afghan frontier than pakistan can sure as hell also build one in 2017 with a length barely 1/10th the size of that.
You don't even need to fence the entire border wakhan corridor is very stable and peaceful and many other areas will be a natural protection - a 2000km barb wire fence/wall would pretty much seal the whole border and massively improve security.

Dear God is this forum full of 14 year olds? Right around the NATO invasion came the 2001-2002 escalation with India and we moved troops who had been sent to FATA to the East as was needed then. When that escalation finished in late 2002 by the time demobilization was complete in 2003 spring it was discovered that the forward posts in FATA which had been abandoned had been occupied and the Militant element is entrenched.

So the enemy had planned this?

the money spent on metro lines all over Punjab and the new spunk in the eye orange line are worth billions of rupees, a small portion of that could have built at least some sort of boundary line! BUT no.

Do you even have any estimate as to how much a full border fence would cost?

I have little time for Mush, but that is bullshit. He got
i) Sanctions lifted. With it came the tacit acceptance of us as a nuclear power.

ii) Debt restructuring. At that time we were perilously close to a debt trap. Restructuring allowed us to divert funds from servicing to infrastructure and social programmes which saw our poverty rate fall staggeringly and increase in our middle class by about 900%.

We had other priorities...

Come on , Mushy did nothing extra-ordinary, in every dictatorship, Pak US relations soared to top. Pakistan had flow of aid to help economy.

Border securing is expensive but required.

i am shocked why don't you guys know that Musharraf wanted to fence and landmine its 1,500-mile border with Afghanistan but US and Ghani interfered in this matter

the Question is why US interfered ?

Answer is (watch this video)

Thats fine, but he was a chief bloody executive of Pakistan.. why he needed permission of foreign countries ?
he used to say , 'Main kisi sei darta warta nahi hoon'

so what you are saying he bloody needs DAD's permission ? he should have done it ...maybe 1 KM inside Pakistan ???

you will make it political .......
