Why was Gandhi killed?

. . .
Yeah plant is fine. After all, the party itself was established by Allan Octavian Hume to act as a 'pressure valve'. That would give the illusion of autonomy. Similar to Marshall Petain during the WW2. (ah my ww2 analogies :( )

It will take a generation, maybe two, but Indians need to be told the truth about how they really won their freedom.

And how some within them made them almost lose it.

.
what made you conclude that I support Gandhi's ideology?

never said so..you asked how this old man could have effected decision making in india during the evening of his life , i think he could have caused a lot of damage due to his ahimsa bs or if he takes some 'Mr Great' stand on an issue which could have effected our country and a lot of people would have in fact even listened to him bcz he was god for them .

.
I personally don't take interest in Gandhi vs God set issue. But sometimes i feel that he has been forced upon us as the father of the nation, although he can be regarded as the architect of freedom movement. The later generation will decide if they want to render that figure to him after asking through subjective scrutiny and that's a fact.

.
@Prajapati Gandhi didn't like Muslims. He was scared of us. He got beaten up by Muslim mob in South Africa and that experience haunted him forever. He knew Hindus were cowards.

We are enlighten with your knowledge..Now you please put your knowledge withing yourself and do not insult yourself with such knowledgeable facts.

Of course he has been systematically shoved down our collective throat for generations. Both by the West's predominant narrative, and by their Indian lackeys.

And the one man who raised an army against the Brits that eventually changed the mindset and attitude of the BIA, and showed the British that their time in India was done, he has been completely sidelined.

It suits the Western narrative that India eventually were given their freedom through a tired war weary Britain fed up and having had enough of the civil disobedience and Gandhi's satyagrah and non cooperation.

The truth is that they were shitting bricks at the prospect of facing a 2.5 million man war hardened Indian army if they stayed on any longer.

And the credit for that goes to Bose. Not Gandhi.

I am amazed at the hate and vitriol spewed against Gandhi. While I agree that the Quit India movement was a failure - his stature should not and can't be diminished. He brought the freedom movement to the masses; earlier it was merely discussed by the highly educated in Bombay, Calcutta and Delhi. When India became independent, he was not celebrating in Delhi - he was busy trying to stop riots in Naokhali in East Pakistan. He was cut from a different cloth. I believe India is a better place because of him.

The "freedom movement" did nothing to force the British hand.

2.5 million Indian soldiers did.

Even the British (Atlee) admitted as much. Why do we still cling to Gandhi's dhoti?

How is that godse was able to give such an eloquent statement after killing gandhiji....why he did not use his eloquence to shatter the so called myth as well as dictatorship of gandhi?

Why is that godse should not be able to give such eloquent statement after killing Gandhi ? .........do you expect him to get brain damage by killing gandhi ?

Did he have no belief and confidence in the cause he espoused for ?

LOL..... he had enough belife and confidence to do something about it. How stupid are you ?

Is that the way to silence a so called wrong voice ?

That is one way. You don't like it, don't do it.

If we agree with what nathuram godse did then we have to accept that only way to deal with
dissent or opposing view point that is wrong is to just kill the person ?

 ..... the courts agreed about what Nathuram Godse did and sentenced him. How does you agreeing or not agreeing matter ?

It would have been better if nathuram godse had used his eloquence to silence the nation than the court room . that would have been the true victory over gandhi and his philosophy . but neither godse had conviction nor moral strength to fight gandhi at ideaological level. He chose easy way out ...and that was to fire bullets in a frail body . he inly killed gandhiji phyisically....he failed to kill the thought and idea of gandhiji....

IT would have been better for you, but clearly it was not better for Godse. He felt it was better if he did what he did :cheesy:

Nathuram godse is no different from rhose islamic terrorists who kill people who they do not like ..
There is no place for such tribe of people in democracy that india is !

I was not aware you are responsible for determining the place of people in India  .............. all the best. Let me know when you revoke my citizenship. Adios stupid.

Come on. No hate is being spewed against Gandhi. Only his stature is being diminshed.

Thank God we had the British as the colonials here, had it been the Germans, (or even me) Gandhi and his satyagrahis would have been shot on the spot. A peaceful satyagraha was a nuisance but acceptable and did the British little harm. It's common sense. Gandhi was no superhuman. His methods were not being dropped from the sky. Satyagraha was not a holy grail.

The one time he could have made a real difference, with his own tactics (non cooperation) was when the British needed to raise a volunteer army.

And what did he do? History is testament. Not once, but twice. Like a good brown native eager to please his white masters.

His last protest and fast in Calcutta had affected his vital organs...he would not have survived for long to bring any significant change in independent India.

Gandhi ji fasted for INR 55 crore to be given to Pakistan when when the Cabinet decided not to so until Pakistan stopped it's unprovoked attacks in Kashmir. It was a direct help to Pakistan when we were engaged in a war with them.
Have you ever seen a country helping another country with which it is engaged in a war .And have you never seen any private individual capable of reversing the decision of GoI for his individualistic ego.
Please note that i'm in no way justifying what Nathuram Godse did but what i said is an undeniable fact.
INR 55 crore was not a direct help ...it was a Lion's share ...!
