Well i think you are naive in Pakistan's current status and the army take this time.
Army has given straight message to them this time and thats the reason that there are two high level delegations in two weeks. First time its clearly asked whether US wants peace or not. why US is not attacking ttp. why US asked Pakistani to drag Taliban to table and they attacked their leader. so things are really changing. all the times are not same. now sennator john mcane given the statement that Afghan failure is because of Obama not because of Pakistan. so you really think that john mcane is also naive and not being rational ??

I am really surprised to see and very typical tendency of all of your so called analyst who keep on bashing your nation, leadership and just take hail lot of execuses...Sometimes i see the discussion in the news channel, truste me the discussion are always lack of any maturity or professionalism...The only agenda i see with so called analyst is to bash your own nation rather than providing solution( Which i highly doubt if they have) and provide incorrect and highly biased opinion to the people.

Take the example of this article for my review...
- Based on author, Pakistan did not bargain well after 9/11...But my counter question is that do you beleive that any better choice was given to Pakistan rather than not accepting the dictat from US...Guys you have to realize that in 2001, Russia was declinig and China was yet to come on world stage...So US was a virtual and uncontested superpower unlike today.
Let us accept the hard fact, Pakistan did not have much choice rather than just listen to US...And another important reason which i always advocate is that US and Gulf nations was and in future will play a critical role in Pakistan economy and in turn Foreign Policy because of Remittance and the Pakistan has a dependancy of US and Europe for Export.
China may be your friend, but China can not replace US in tems of economic potential..

- The other argument is that due to China factor, US sides with India..Again, it is a half truth that is always propagated by your media and in specific Army alligned analyst. India will never ally with any nation per se. India is never going to fight US war against China...India is just too big country to be just doing the dirty work of other nations unlike some other countries do for money from US....That does not deny the fact that India and China rivallary will be over. Rather, India will be a rival of China on its own term rather than with US terms.

- Pakistan is dumped by US because, US never thought or considered to be a partner with Pakistan on people to people basis..If Pakistan would like to be a friend of US, then your people to people culture should allign with US culture...Pakistan never invested its energy with having people to people contact with US...I hope that you are not making the same mistake with China..Pakistan made the same mistake with US what India made with Russia...India and Russia are just good friends for Arms and Ammunation...So when the demand or market for this transacation dies,
your warmth goes down..

Slowly and gradually the US is dumping Saudi Arabia and there will come a time when Saudi Arabia will eventually have to dump the US and ally with some other country. That some other country can only be China.

Rather...I have a feeling that Gulf nations are actually smart nations...When they will move away from US, they may be a power of their own...They may not ally with China rather they may have their own independent policy because they are rich nations..Poor nations look for ally and support. By aligning wiith US, they get the knowledge base and technology. But aligning with China, they will not gain any of these things. Rather i feel China need more of Gulf countries than GCC need China.

Interesting article. Perhaps another factor that needs to be visited is the schism of Pakistani society itself fueled by Saudi petro dollars. The Pakistanis I have met - have either been completely liberal or been very religious. And the number seemed quite evenly divided - although I do realize that the ones coming to University might not be a microcosm of the entire society. Till the 1960s and 1970s - Pakistan seemed to have been quite at ease with itself and the sectarian violence that plagues it today was not present - please correct me if I am wrong. The Islam practiced in all of South Asia was more tolerant - probably had a bigger Iranian influence. Now it seems that the money poured into spreading the Wahabi strand of Islam from the 1980s changed the dynamic of Pak society to a great extent. Post 9/11 - those tutored in this school of thought have resorted to violence with more ease than they would have a few generations ago. This has not endeared Pakistan to any country in the West. For all its talk of China being its all weather friend - it was China which supplied India (via USA) of Musharaf's taped conversations during Kargil. China will drop Pakistan like a hot potato if it is in its interests. And that should not surprise anyone.

India provides a lot of opportunities for industries from around the world. USA joins hands with India just to grab that opportunity and to check China. Pakistan is not even a factor in US-India-China relations except China vehemently/foolishly equating India with Pakistan and trying to rope that in.

Gulf states are mineral flush and hence are rich currently, once the oil runs out the gulf states will be nothing. On top of that, the gulf states, especially Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait etc., the rich ones, have very low population and almost no defenses despite the load of shiny, state of the art weapons. Is it then a wonder that Saudi Arabia begged US for protection from Saddam? These states will always need protection of super powers.

In the case of Saudi Arabia it is even more significant as without the explicit support of US Government to the monarchy, there could potentially be a serious power struggle for 'democracy' and Saudi Arabia does not have the manpower to quell any serious uprising without external help. This is specially true because monarchy is neither the acceptable way of transfer of power nor is it acceptable in Islam. The reason this system has survived for so long is petrodollar and blatant US support so far.

Pakistan should indeed stop worrying or obessing with India.

There is nothing common among the two. Apart from border.

Hopefully, Pak sees India as a neighbour without historical baggage.

The possibility of war has become practically zero. Both sides know it. Just focus on economy and investment.

The US is only one true Sovereign nation on this planet. Everyone else is...well. Indo-US relation are their affair.

Exactly same question was asked by USA that why there is a double game and TTP safe heavens in Afghanistan under their nose. and why they killed Mulla mansoor while US was asking for peace talks ?

And for your info, two years back it was openly told to US that Pakistan provides medical and some other facilities to taliban leaders and their families and thats the only way to keep our control so that they listen to us so this time the double game was done by US by asking Pakistani to bring taliban on table and on the other side they killed their leader.

This time US has attacked in settled city area which is very important because CPEC is going to be passing through them and thats the reason a final call was made to US to clear her policy and decide exactly what they want.
and thats the reason that their sennator is blaming their own government which never happened earlier.

1. India, with a larger population, is a far more important market for the US. In the past, the US allied itself with Pakistan because a leftist India shunned the US, not the other way around. Pakistan was always second choice.

2) reform judicial system, political system and economic policies.
3) improve current infrastructure.
4) development of new cities in Balochistan.
5) repopulate Balochistan by relocating people.
6) 50,000 new colleges/universities.
7) free education from preK to 10th grade.
8) decenterlization of power to street level
9) 40 smaller administrative unites.
10) land reform.
11) new coastal citied.
