NO need for an another Remote Control Government...we need a PM who has Command over both his party & his government...Any decision of the PM should be the Decision of the Party...even MMS went wrong there...

Agree, we want no one else but NaMo.

I think Narendra Modi cant be PM cause lot of people dnt allow him to this post I mean lot of negative publicity did by congress and other NGOs

I want NM as our next PM but LK Advani is also good option

Majboot neta nirnayak sarkar

For PM my choices are:-

1) Narendra Modi

2) Subramanium Swami

3) Arun Shourie

No one can separate Modi from his past. His past has mortally wounded his national ambitions.

Indian political scene is full of dynasty politics and such things are a nemesis for a true democracy.

Narendra Modi has done great service for the people of Gujarat besides, he has a large fan following outside Gujarat too.

The only problem in declaring him as a PM candidate is that the non- BJP parties will form a front against the BJP in the elections for the purpose of wooing the muslim vote bank.

And this communal politics played by the so called seculars is ruining my nation. its the responsibility of we youths to spread the awareness so that the politics of our nation becomes indipendent of religion and cast. we only want politics based on development. i request muslims to vote for development, vote for modi.

Ofcourse, Muslims are not in the mainstream because they vote as a unit not for development but for the insecurity they are fed to.

Muslims have to understand that India is a peaceful nation in which minorities are living peacefully for thousands of years.

The Jews, The Parsis, The Jains etc; they are living peacefully and contributing to the development of our nation, their nation!!!

Time for muslims to rise above religion and play a major hand in the development of the nation.

Nothing ventured nothing gained. I hope the BJP is not stupid enough to die wondering "what if." And its not like they are awash in good potential national leaders as the face of their next campaign either. Even if the entire muslim vote goes against Modi, which i believe it will not, there is still a pretty strong anti-incumbent upswell in the country that is only going to grow stronger thanks to unabated inflation of food and oil and scam after scam to add insult to injury. I do not believe the Congress deserves another term, Manmohan or not, but for that to happen, the BJP needs to present the country with someone strong and capable enough to present even a semi attractive alternative. And I definitely do not believe Advani to be that.

NaMo was the chief minister at the state during riot. The riot was like a state sponsored riots. The police & politicians were involved in riots and was given a free run.
BJP at the center diidnot intervene nor did modi called them.................

He used the anti-muslim sentiment in the following state election. He is beleived to have been played a key role in anti-muslim conspiracy during riot & sohrabudhin fake encounter.

He ,as a chief minister has failed his most important duty -"To protect people'

Gujrat is making its sure way to success but i am not ready to forgive hime......And i think so many will agree with me.........

All this tough guy talk is best reserved where you have overwhelming support of the majority of the people. It simply cannot work nationally. We don't have a Presidential system of governance. Modi may work like that in Gujarat which has a single party government , it simply wouldn't work nationally where a coalition is almost guaranteed & where the leader of that coalition has to have the ability to take everyone along(like Vajpayee did). Modi wouldn't be able to touch politicians in Tamil Nadu simply because they can play the chauvinist card as can the other states. A PM cannot force a decision through, unlike how Modi functions in Gujarat. If your allies oppose you, there will be absolutely no movement whatsoever on policies regardless of who is PM. Those clamoring for this strong man idea simply have no understanding of how democracy in India works. As prime Minister, one has even less room to maneuver since you can't make policies for individual states. Economic decisions bring with it a host of pressures and can only be pushed through with a consensus. Modi will have to become a completely different leader to be able to do that and unlikely to succeed due to his image. Nitish Kumar is probably the only opposition leader with that ability(I am discounting Advani due to age). Reminds me most of Vajpayee & will do a better job than most though I seriously doubt that the present leaders of the BJP have the brains to see that and support him accordingly.

Take it from me that in a few years, if there is an opposition government in power; Manmohan Singh will be thought of as a strong leader. A bloody nightmare!

As I said, a democracy is about the voice of the people. And when you have 1.2 billion voices, chances are that all will not be speaking the same. What happened in Gujarat is a blot on our nation, no two ways about it. But if Modi is what the nation needs, and Modi is what the majority of the nation wants, then Modi is what the nation will and should get. The larger interests of the nation for the present and the future cannot and should not be held hostage to the past. As for the unique pliability needed for coalition politics and economic consensus, please bear in mind that all "tough guy" said and done, at the end of it all, Modi is a gujju bhai. So don't sell him short on that score ;)

True but other than a few hysterical supporters there is absolutely no proof that the majority of the people want Modi. The Congress was voted in (by definition that means the BJP including Modi were kept out) by that most democratic of processes - Elections. It's also funny that those who want to use this argument (of popularity) for Modi have nothing but the choicest of abuses for those who have been proved electorally to be more popular than the BJP & Modi i.e. Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi. If they are not acceptable to a vocal minority surely it stands to reason that Modi may also be opposed by a vocal minority. Can't have it both ways.

Modi did a lot of good things for gujarat. But clearely, hes biased against minorities and on top of that anti-islamic. India has a HUGE muslim population.

How can you support someone who could possibly jeopardize the 'unity in diversity'? It is simply not acceptable .

Personal opinion: Modi is a biased pig. He can stay in gujarat. No need to poison the rest of india.

Bang Galore you have a point, but its based on the last electoral. I am looking at things today and looking forward to the next. Nothing ventured nothing gained. If the BJP goes ahead again by toeing the "safe" secular inclusive line and keeping Modi just back of full frontal, they will be also-rans in the coalition cauldron once again. But if they play it smart, and cash in on the current loss of popular support for the center and target a no-nonsense style of government that has a strong track-record of economic revival and development with zero tolerance for corruption (based on the impressive Gujarat model) then they have a chance. Otherwise it is the same old wine in an even older bottle that no one wanted the last time around.

Sure it will alienate some people. But the stronger chance (and chance it is) will be of providing a viable and attractive anti-incumbent change alternative to many more. At the end of it coalition politics is not really as complicated as it is made out to be (by politicians wanting to don the mantle of serious intellectual expertise). It is basically a number of smaller fragments gravitating around the more advantageous of two potential power centers. But for there to be two, the second one should be in the reckoning and within the ballpark of the first, right at the very beginning, on its own steam, before the machinations and wheeling and dealing start. That is what the BJP needs to aim at next time around, and what it failed to do with Advani in the forefront (with Modi stashed away in "secular" cotton-wool). Hope you see my point.

A pro-Modi vote is not anti-Muslim. It is pro-India.
