Lahore’s Orange Line project gets Rs20bn tax relief
The government on Friday granted Rs20-billion tax relief to Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project and decided to extend the same benefits to three future projects of similar nature in Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar to avoid controversies.

The decision was taken at a special single-point meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet presided over by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

“The ECC approved the proposal of the Planning, Development and Reform Division at the request of the government of Punjab to grant exemptions from withholding tax beyond six per cent of E&M (electrical and mechanical) contract price, and from tax/duties on import of equipment to be installed for the Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project,” a brief official statement said.

Hahaha off course there was no corruption. It just magically happens to be the most expensive Metro Train in the world. All the other major cities were a bunch of morons that they happened to build it much cheaper, even Delhi built it much cheaper although its a much bigger city. Also, Punjab Government didn't release the documents of all the transactions for the safety of the people because after all, transparency is horrible for accountability. Yup indeed, no corruption at all, after all that's the hallmark of PML-N. Hahaha hahaha

Pti and PPP were using the environment and heritage card against the OLM because they had nothing to prove against corruption in this project.

Go and check the coat of metro tari. Projects under construction I. India and Bangladesh before passing nonsense comments about OLM cost.

Just compare the cost of the Peshawar metro bus service with the Rawalpindi metro and you will know the difference. The same trend you will find here.
Peshawar metro bus is no where , whereas pindi metro is working owesum For the twin cities people.

What court of law are you talking about? In Pakistan there is no such thing as court of law. Everyone agrees that Pakistan is corrupt to the core, but name me a single person that has been convicted in the court of law for corruption. Dr Asim, Sharjeel Memon, Raja Pervaiz, Gillani have never been convicted.

Latest example, Balochistan Chief Secretary steals Rs40 billion, gives back Rs2 billion and is released scot free. There is no such thing as court of law in Pakistan, so please don't fool us.

They only have logic to prove that there was massive corruption. How can they prove there was corruption, when Punjab Government has refused to release any documentation regarding the Orange Train Project. After all, the only reason they are not releasing any documentation and not allowing any transparency because they know that there was massive corruption.

Already did. Delhi's cost per km is half of what the Orange Train line, so i guess the other half is going in the pocket of Shahbaz Sharif. Maybe you should do some research before passing nonsense comments. Maybe the report was in English, so you couldn't understand it but i can definitely translate it for you in Urdu.

I don't have to do shiit as I am not stupidly questioning everything. I do have common sense I can use. No two projects can be compared from a cost standpoint unless they are 100% identical. Adding flower beds alone would change the cost :lol:.

So do me a favor, post legal, certified documentation so we can compare apples to apples. Otherwise, its all bullshiit like it is on every other thread resulting in nothing but propaganda.

Also, one of your cousins banned me I believe. Tell him I said hey, he proved me how much propaganda takes place on here.

Don't put on silly icons, show me the approved project memo's, diagrams, cost analysis. I'll tear this shiit apart in 30 minutes and will let you know if what you are saying is right. You can't compare the Cost of two airports. Unless they are being designed from the same blue print, by the same architect, by the same investor, the same labor pool and materials. Here, you are talking about two railroad projects. Yet, you couldn't share the Cost, Materials, Resource analysis and Blue Prints! If you can't share those, then this entire discussion you were having is just propaganda because there is no other way to find out through empirical research based on numbers as to what the facts are....

I don't have extra time to research it. But, what i have found, your source of research seems to me some PTI Facebook Pages. You are trying to compare apple with orange. I have already told you that both projects are different. I do not want to prove you wrong but i am unable to absorb the figures shared by you.
if you have really researched very well then you must have some links or sources. Care to share?

vi. Total Price = USD 1,626,000,000
The final price of USD 1,478 Million is around 661 Million dollar less than the bid price

Significant economies / price reductions achieved in E&M Work’s price. Effective negotiations yielded project cost savings of approximately USD 660,818,182/- with unprecedented support of the Chinese Government and gracious flexibility shown by CR-NORINCO. Further, transparent tendering process of Civil Works carried out by LDA yielded additional saving of PKR 5.97 Billion.

I don't mind you being from one party and someone else from another. That is your democratic right and I don't care as I am not in Pakistan, nor do I go there unless I have an assignment (rarely in a few years for a week may be). But, I do have an issue with people lying off their rears. That shouldn't happen or you should give enough data so people can agree with you. Thanks
