Eating beef is a crime that is worse than killing someone, drunken driving, and theft.

My area in Lucknow chowk has narrow streets. The cow is just literally everywhere. Logically even if the cow is held to be holy it should not be roaming the streets like that. It should be put in cattle penns. The situation is so bad the cow shits and theres shit all over trapped in the mortar of the cobblestone bricks. We have a situation with the languri bandar as well.

I think logic should prevail and animals should either be in a zoo or in cages. It is a good thing about hinduism that it seeks to protect its wildlife however there is a difference between logical thinking and weak insecure thinking.

Actually beef was not banned for religious reason, it was banned because of article 48A in Indian constitution. It's just that Maharashtra decided to implement it.
This is what article 48a says

"Article 48A in The Constitution Of India 1949
48A. Protection and improvement of environment and safeguarding of forests and wild life The State shall endeavour to protect and improve the environment and to safeguard the forests and wild life of the country"

How? Pork is not banned. Beef is not readibly available and banned in maharashtra.
