Good evening folks, this thread was inspired by @SecularNationalist and the videos on how people are treated in Pakistan and India.
His thread prompted me to do a little research on the concept of charity (in its various forms) within nations, and to my shock I found Pakistan ranked fairly low on the CAF world giving index. I just can't understand this. Pakistan is given a rank of 91, the report itself judges a nation on three giving behaviours;
1. Giving money to charity. N.B. This isn't about how much, it's about the frequency of giving.
2. volunteering time.
3. Helping a stranger.

As for politically motivated ranking, I don't believe this is factor in this case, for example Iran has a ranking of 29 . Also folks no comparisons with India which has a horrible score anyway. So what do you think has happened? Have Pakistanis becomes less charitable? Have Islamic values become eroded over time? Is the report inaccurate?

We dont have a Financial Tracking system.

No Data out of Pakistan is reliable to make any case study.

Plus sunnah holds true. Do charity so that your left Hand does not know of your right hands deeds.

Arent i cheesy

Not accurate. There is no way the people of freaking Liberia (80% Christian) are giving more charity (Zakat) than Pakistanis. I mean look at them.

I was about to say this Hadith too. No Pakistani brags how many times they donated. They simply do not count.

Myanmar is a really f*cked up country. But Myanmar/Cambodian people tip me a lot of cash here in America. I'd say there is a 1/4 chance they will give me a $50 or $100 tip. I find Indian tippers to be the least generous. I only get $2 or $3 from them if lucky.

. .
Always say Alhumdulilah
Cambodians are rich f*cks. They usually eat Dhum Biryani and leave quickly. Plus thing is that they don't drop rice all over the table like other folks. The worst scenario in my restaurant is the usual pack of five macho Pakistani men coming through. They order a whole feast (Nihari, Haleem, 3 different Karahis, Biryani, Seekh Kebabs, 30+ naan). They sit around and talk loudly and obnoxiously about useless stuff. They sip on chai and proceed to talk loudly for 1 hour or so. But, When its time to go. Each of them offers to pay and leaves a tip. Money is great but Pakistanis behavior are a migraine to deal with.

Their product is several bucks above market-price. They are sneaky business men too. Some one of them resale from South American suppliers. Sailors on ships on the Pacific waterways are of SE Asian counties. You know very well what they are transmitting on their fleets. Long Beach is largest Port here in California. Situated South of Los Angeles. There is a sizable Cambodian population in Long Beach. There is a region called "Little Cambodia", and there is quite some Hustle in the nighttime when some ships come through. US Border and Customs crew at the Port is reduced throughout the night, and not every single crate is throughly goes through the check point.

That is quite some easy metric tones of imported low-key product.

Nice.

What are the nigerians into over there?

. . .
Pakistani give the most charity ... a known fact and reiterated by PM Ik again & again so I trust him and my own observation.. rest people normally do it discretely and use cash or goods so it cannot be recorded. I mean if a beggar comes to your home and asks for food, cloths etc and you provide him.. how will it get recorded.. you won't a receipt from him..

So now the world no 1 scamming nation of nigeria is giving more charity than pakistanis ?
These so called indexes are based on averages and certain assumptions and therefore do not depict a real picture. Also to get a real picture ,you need to travel and experience things by yourself.Since travel wise pakistan is the most underrated country in the world ,those who made such indexes probably never had the chance to get the ground realities about pakistan and based their indexes on all the incorrect data available to them.
We have plenty of ills in our society but very few nations have big hearts like pakistani people and it,s my unbiased observation. We got the bad image because we had corrupt and bad governments in the past.
Finally i am glad my thread prompted you to start a though provoking topic.
