clearly western media is focusing on Indian smog.

You just have confirmation bias and an extremely thin skin.
You believe any reporting on China, if not glowing and kowtowing, is an attack on china.

In reality, its just reporting facts.

Also, you have an agenda to push the narrative that western media can't be trusted so next time they report something on china you can simply dismiss it.

Indians didnt even knw when it was bad until they were compared to China. Had Beijing remained no 1,they would have been contented. Their whole national psyche revolves around China. Bcoz of a friggin border skirmish, their ego is bruised till now.

I personally felt that the western media reported it about the same as they are reporting Indian smog.

If anything, they are taking it easy on Pakistan and not reporting the hell smog in Lahore as much.

What that does is make neutral people like me think that you people have thin skins and over react to everything.

So now the Chinese PDF members instead of being thankful are being spiteful...unreal.

How truly sad can things be if millions of Chinese people are turning to the US Embassy to supply them with real air quality data.

It was reported like any other incident bro. Don't fall for the PDF Chinese trap. They're just trying to discredit Western media, which I agree holds bias just like any other media but actually reports on a lot of stuff too that the Chinese are butthurt about like Xinjiang and Hong Kong. They just want to repress the idea of quoting Western media on PDF. Literally 1/5 of all threads about the military on PDF are Western related which quote Western sources lol...

India's problem is the smog is bad but the public don't care, they just tend to live with it. It only became an issue after China's smog news flooded the internet and suddenly Indians found that the smog in India is even worse than China's, China help Indians being aware of the existence of this problem in a sense.

Chinese government is a highly responsive government, where there is a problem occuring with public grivances , the government of all level are always able to response quickly and organize resources of different kinds getting the problems fixed fast. This quick response mechnism is China's big advantage over the western countries.

Any Chinese officials who plan to travel to Washington would notice and deeply care, wouldn't they?

In any way, I think both sides (west and China) have their reasons for their behaviors, which are not unreasonable.

China has a lot of issues and both ordinary Chinese and Chinese officials are very aware of those issues. But nobody likes his dirty laundry to be aired, particularly by other people. True for anyone, you, me, Chinese, Indians, Americans.

But egotistic people really enjoy air other people's dirty laundry, particularly those who believe they are better than the other people. For the same reason, Americans like to air dirty laundry of everybody else. Chinese like to air dirty laundry of India, particularly about their economy, manufacturing inefficiency, open defecation, etc, etc, anything in which Chinese believe they are doing better. Indians like to air dirty laundry of China, particularly about the freedom of speech, religious freedom, etc, etc, anything in which Indians believe they are doing better.

Though reasonable, these behaviors are royal waste of time and energy.

They were already making a big deal about air pollution in Beijing due to the 2008 Olympics. This is why it started making big headlines.

If they were having the Olympics in Bangladesh next month we’d be hearing about Bangladesh’s air pollution every day. So give it a rest.

In fact we’d be hearing China say the Olympics shouldn’t be held in such a backwards environment “compared to modern China”...as if China never points out negative stuff. The Chinese media would be making fun of them for the number of sooty diesel buses, antique non-cashless payments, no facial recognition technology convenience, etc.

But oh boy if somebody said something about the air pollution in China...OMG out come the rabid nationalists denouncing any criticism as a full blown all-encompassing complete western coordinated plot against “OUR CHINA” ....like a bunch of hypocritical crybabies.
