Why is Asad Umar not accepting Energy ministry offered to him by Imran Khan

He said in Kashif Abbasi show that his expertise is in finance and he would be out of his depth in any other ministry. PTI lost a gem.

Ch*tiapay ka decision by Khan.

Asad Umar is totally wrong, when he says that finance and economic affairs is his expertise. It is not.

In any case, in democratic systems, a minister is not deemed to be an expert of his field. His job fundamentally to use the available experts, under his ministry, to deliver.

.
So we all know Asad Umar has resigned from Finance ministry. It is in the news that he has been offered Energy ministry by Imran Khan as a replacement. But so far media is reporting that Asad Umar has refused to take up the energy ministry. Why is he doing so. I think he is a qualified person to run the energy ministry and it is an important ministry. Isn't it childish on part of Asad umar to refuse transfer to another ministry, is it a matter of ego in his case because if he wants to serve the country then he can still serve the country by running energy ministry.

Saw his interview with Kashif Abbasi and he confirmed that PM offered him Petroleum Ministry but he refused because he thinks he is not qualified enough for it.

If Firdous the Ashiq great Chawal could be a information Minister and Fawad the Choudhry Chawal could be a Minister of science and Technology than why not Asad be a Minister for energy and resources umm difference is that he is not a CHAWAL.
A doctor can’t be an engineer and an engineer can’t be a doctor.
And Chawals are Chawals

Taking your point of view, and running with it, Asad was not an economist either.
Here you go mate. Wrong person for wrong job. He is just a big mouth, nothing more than that.
You cannot run ministries by jibes and quick mouth. You need to get down with the nitty gritty of it, as soon as possible.

Asad is simply a Marketing MBA, for heaven sake always remember this.
How many Marketing MBA have moved to the position of Head of a massive company like "Engro"!!
Would an MBA from poor family, no matter how talented and brilliant he is academically, reach that position!!
I doubt it. Asad is where he is because he is son of General Umer, period.
Connections at all the right places.

To running finance affairs doesn’t need a PhD even a metric fail can do that if he isn’t a Chawal. And btw what’s the qualifications of Fawad the Chawal to lead science and technology ministry?

.
But I didn't said it now, I said it months ago, because I could see what is coming.

If you could see what’s coming in the future, you can become millionaire by putting your skill to work. You should play lottery.

Media had two major problems one was FBR notices to media mafia houses(Asad Umer) and the other major one was cut in advertisement budget(Fawad Ch)

Both are solved by removing Asad Umer and Fawad Ch . Now IMF agent as finance minister and Firdos Ashiq Awan foul/vulgar mouth good for nothing in Information ministery

I was watching clip of Orya Maqbool Jaan's program He was saying "journalists are very happy on the appointment of Firdos Ashiq Awan"

Asad should not accept any position or post . let Imran go forward with Firdos Ashiq Awan instead of Fawad Ch, IMF agent Hafeez Sheikh in Finance insted of Asad Umer and Samsam Bukhari as information minister punjab instead of Fiaz Ul Hassan Chuhan and other newly parachuted people in PTI and we will see how far he can go.

Fawad chauhdry isn't fit to be the face of government of Pakistan

I'm not a Pakistan but from my years of reading about current affairs if Pakistan and discussion with few Pakistan friends around the world, I think the power ministry is yet another mess similar if not more compared to Finance I guess. And that might be very well the reason he is excusing himself from accepting the post. :-)

This on 4th April 2019:

Asad, had created lots of problems for the economy. He had handle on the balance of payment crisis, which was coming in to the correct direction, would have helped Pakistan in the long run.
The problem is that the economy wasn't doing great and pressures were building.
I am glad that IK took a swift decision because the delay would have caused more damage.

He was creating an atmosphere where the business confidence was eroding.
The tax collection was dropping. He should have paid attention to these two pressing issues.
These are the two main issues, which should also have immediate priorities like Balance of Payment crisis.
All things have to move in sync for the economy to work. You cannot ignore any aspect of it, and should have handle on it, otherwise you are doomed.

I agree, that was what my thoughts were. He should've worked out a way to curb imports. He should've also removed any subsidy gradually from gasoline prices and bring it up to, for say, India or China, for residential consumers. Currently gasoline prices are one of the lowest at 0.67, while US has 0.71, India 1.03, China 1.02, oil rich KSA at 0.57. Furthermore he should've focus more on tax collection system, should've issued unique social security numbers to Pakistanis from which their tax history could be tracked.

Saw his interview with Kashif Abbasi and he confirmed that PM offered him Petroleum Ministry but he refused because he thinks he is not qualified enough for it.

That is very very strange, as an MBA with field experience he is fully qualified to run any ministry including petroleum ministry. Here in germany I see politicians changing ministries regularly, for example a politician who was interior minister in the earlier set up became economics minister in the next setup, or a law minister changed to foreign minister in the next setups.

To running finance affairs doesn’t need a PhD even a metric fail can do that if he isn’t a Chawal. And btw what’s the qualifications of Fawad the Chawal to lead science and technology ministry?

This is fantasy thinking.

Once in a company, I was given a position. The problem was : none of the guys was supportive. The task given to me remained not accomplished. I was offered another position.
I resigned too.
The Motive behind my resign was: I recognised that it was not a right company for me. For I quit.
May be Mr Omer is also thinking the same.

Private company hai, govt idara nahi jo connections itna kaam den. and yes, middle class people can easily reach high places in private companies if they work hard.

I think it is a good thing he is not taking any new position in the cabinet especially energy portfolio. All this nonsense about it being due to performance or pressure from opposition (what opposition?). He was done dirty from within the party and even from PM house. As nobody came to his defense and concentrated campaign was run against him and is still running in the media and social media by people who are thought to be close to PTI. Like if you see Sabir Shakir's YouTube video posted on 18 April he claims that Asad wanted to join PMLN or PPP but Shuja Pasha told him to join PTI. With Shahid Masood in end of March ran a week long Marathon against him on the basis that the Chinese loan of 2.1B is taken on 5% even though he clarified weeks before that it was at 2.5% now someone was lying my money is on Shahid Masood lying, he on his 15th April program claimed that finance ministry has told gas distributors to calculate Dollar at RS. 180/- which at this point seems illogical, he constantly aludes to that Asad wants to replace IK.

If Asad takes power ministry here's how I think it will go. There is already more than a trillion rupees circular deficit he will be blamed for that. There are already planned price hikes he will be blamed for that and than he will be changed on "performance" basis.

Current power and energy minister, grandson of Ayub managed to recover 51 billion rupees from defaulter companies in just 8 months.
