take a look in your india map...you will understand if we divert water Indus water directly to Pakistan..India will have no leverage against Pakistance but India side of Jammu will be a dead land.
Indus doesn't pass through Jammu. It passes through Ladhakh. They don't teach you goegraphy in china?
Ladakh is a cold desert as it is, doubt diverting Indus would affect anything. Residents of Ladakh will still have Shyok And Nubra rivers(fed by Sichen glacier) to live off.
You divert Indus directly to Pakistan, we divert Chenab and Ravi river. Problem solved. Not to forget that diverting the natural course/flow of the river, will devastate the already flood prone plains of Indus. Also less silt in the water, as a result the soil in food basket region of Pakistan will be not as rich anymore, which means lower agricultural output.
So yeah,
