I wouldn't have known this if i was still in Pakistan. But now i've seen it and i believe it.

Pakistanis, even in the US, for the large part haven't become as successful as they can be.

How are they in UK?

Not so great up North, much better in the South and London, on par with other successful groups. Pakistanis do have some good stats e.g. they have the third highest rate of home ownership, Pakistani students now make up one of the highest rates of participation at university etc. But there is so much to do.

It doesn't help that something like 50% of British Pakistanis get married to a spouse that comes over from Pakistan instead of a Pakistani from the UK. That's the major reason the community is held back.

They mostly tend to get married to their cousins who are from the same ancestral village as them. When the women come to the UK, they often tend to just stay at home and not even work, and the men that come tend to just work in takeaways or become taxi drivers. That's why the British Pakistani self employment rate is so high and why so many are in low pay. It's also why the female employment rate is so low. Then the kids that are born to these couples will have one parent that doesn't know English fluently so they'll speak Potwari/Pashto/whatever in their home as their first language, then when they start school they're miles behind their English peers and this disadvantage stays with them their whole life. The cycle then continues. The British Indian community have benefited by only getting married to fellow British Indians and not Indians from India.

Of course what I wrote is just a huge generalisation, there are plenty of successful transnational couples, but the majority aren't imo.

Indians operate without the slightest regards to most of the principles that White kids, Muslim kids and Asian kids grow up with. They can lie, deceive and indulge in the worst forms of corporate politics one can imagine, all with a straight face and an innocent smile.


In a society/organization full of hard-working, honest and naive people, a deceitful, dishonest person can take advantage of the majority with ease, at the expense of everyone else. Sadly that's what's happening at certain big companies made by hardworking, honest white man!


However, when all people in a society are of this deceitful, dishonest disposition with complete disregard to the welfare of fellow citizens, no one wins and the society is pushed to the edge of chaos - welcome to India!

When someone keeps repeating a few phrases over and over then they are most likely bull shitting. .

A correct measure for being upright citizenship would be the social contribution a group brings to the society at large.

Another measurement would be prison statistics with regards to inmate population which in Britain for example is very highly skewed when it comes to "muslims" as you mention...you being Bangladeshi and a muslim..you aren't from the right demographic to make a judgement call.

I wish someone from Pakistan had posted this!!!! It would've told me that someone ACTUALLY started to pay attention!!! But oh no, how could that be?? It was an Indian guy posting it. But allow me to add my two cents, whether some like it or not. Its not true that everyone coming from India is an intellect or "smart above the remainder of the world". They are just like the rest of the world, have smart ones, less smart ones, average ones and below average ones. So what makes them successful???

1) Nationalism and team work: They present India everywhere they go. There is tension and hate among some groups and states too, like we would have anywhere else. But, they put all their issues and ego aside and ONLY work for India. Sense of pride to support their country is amazing and show unity, team work and gets things done without stress or issues.

2) Understanding of the bigger picture. They know their goals. They know what they have to do here, what they have to deal with and for how long. Even if an Indian person gets an H1B visa for 6 years, they do back and live in India afterwards, they have still become a multimillionaire in India. Because they have goals and understanding of the bigger picture. They also understand the basic business term very well, to get something, you got to give something. So whether that's providing help to someone, favor, money, etc, they know the system and play with it very well.

3) And this last one's obviously the common sense, the Education. There are many IT guys without education that came in to US somehow, they are in the same category also. The top two things are a MUST have, whether you have basic or advance education or whether you are a PHD!
