Russian officials have alreaqdy visited India and briefed IA on the possible upgrade.
Interesting, but don't forget that the T90s we have are pretty new, it doesn't make sense to upgrade them already at high costs. Depending on how much we still need to produce, or how much more we want to procure, it would be better to buy the upgrade features and add them to our production line, while older T90s can be upgraded later. Same way we will do it with the MKI and Super 30 MKI.
T70s can be turned into tank X with Arjins turretThe T 90S is already in Indian service!
The upgraded tank is the T90 MS.
The Tank fleet will probably look something like this in the future:
1500+ T 90S/ MS
250 + Arjun Mk1/2
(T 72s will probably be retired).

Kyon hum ko darathey ho baba ?
Currently we have
857 T90S/M
124 Arjun
1968 T72S/M1
550 T-55
Thats over 3500 MBT
The remaining 800 T90M that are to be inducted will replace the old T-55 and some of the older non upgraded T-72S
from above , you can see that we have over 2500 Tanks that will need to be retired by between 2012-27
while our current induction plan will only help provide us with some 800 T-90 and 124 Arjun Mk2 by 2020
so that will leave us with a fleet of 1600 T-72 (1000 upgraded to M1 Ajeya standard) in yr 2020
You people need to understand that their is no way in hell that IA is going to reduce its armour to below 3000 Tanks
but the arjun is not deployed anywhere......
