Quds Force, an elite unit of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, spearheads Iran’s global terrorist campaign.
When Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar’ made a remark that “Why Army Should be used to neutralise a terrorist why not a terrorist can do that job for us ” created a flutter in Indian media and in Parliament.
While his statement came under severe attack within India by Political rivals / Presstitutes and left minded Intellectuals who were terming his statement as a new dimension in India’s Strategic shift which encouraged low-intensity conflict threat or State Sponsored terrorism against its rivals in the region to maintain the area of influence.
Recent Pathankot Air Base and Gurdaspur attack show that Pakistani Army along with its dreaded Intelligence network ISI now completely believes in the concept of low-intensity terror strikes across India and not much keen on waging a full-fledged war against its “traditional rival” which is India.
Terror Strikes which are usually carried out by Non-State actors and funded through dubious methods allows Pakistani Civilian establishments to maintain the highest level of deniability like what was followed after Mumbai terror attacks.
India’s very own Anti-terror Strategic are usually short sided without any long term planning which repeatedly has allowed Pakistan not only to harbour terrorist on their soil openly but also provide them logistics, training, intel and funds to plan next terror attack in the country.
lack of any military strikes nor any cross-border raids on terror infrastructure in Azad Kashmir and border areas of Pakistan by Indian defence forces clearly points out that external pressure quickly builds upon India to not to act against Pakistan by western countries like United states who clearly have been working on their agendas to secure their own interest in the region, while also providing so-called Anti-terror funds along with military equipment every year to Pakistani military establishments .
Setting up India’s own External Anti-Terror Army to fight against terrorists which could be responsible for conducting extraterritorial military and clandestine operations in other countries in the region will not be easy in chaotic democracy like India where political parties work on their own agendas rather than on securing India’s agenda which have seen many blunders in past which have been termed as Suicidal strategy by many defence analysts adopted by many Civilian governments in the past.
Dismantling of India’s intelligence network in neighbouring countries during Gujral’s tenure as PM and killing of Technical Services Division a secret intelligence unit set up by General V.K. Singh which was instrumental in stopping and even neutralising Pakistani army Special Service Group (SSG) backed Border Action Team (BAT) operations with the help of Lashkar-i-Toiba (leT), Jaish-i-Mohammed(JeM) and Hizbul Mujahideen only shows why India’s Civilian government administrators always fear that India’s very own secret units might work against their political interest and in camouflage of national interest have discouraged or killed such units in the past which effectively has made India’s fight against terror toothless in other regions.
Raising an External Indian Army which can be headed by Mastermind Strategist belonging to Army who can lead a force of foreign/ Indian mercenaries in countries which India wants to maintain its influence and also can take out terror targets will need clearance from highest office and should not be answerable to our Parliament/ Judiciary/RTI or our very own politicians and have its own source of funding to funds its operations and should be answerable to only PMO.
Can we raise such a force which can work on elimination of terror safe houses around our region and help friendly governments and their military wage a war against a common enemy ?? Can we unite and kill nonsensical debates and multiple noises in our democracy?? Can we ever bring justices to families who have lost their dear ones to terror strikes ? or we will continue to be a mute and helpless spectators against the fight against terrorism!
