well, indian securalism exists not because of the sanghis and their supporters but despite them, and the seculars/progressives are a significant mass but sadly i must say unorganized.

Its unfortunate a terrorist has been elected as your leader. The progressives have failed badly. I don't understand how the economy is doing any better under Modi though than under Congress. Manmohan was clearly not corrupt and took a stand against corruption. I kind of respected said person.

mms was a puppet, his whole administration was plagued with the cancer of corruption, one big case after the other.. all his good work as FM in the 90s stands nullified because of his puppet pm years.

manmohan singh was no socialist or progressive but yes he was a honest person.

the largest representation of indian progressives - the socialists - are disunited since the 60's... it is indeed a failure of the socialists in not gaining national power even when in the late 90's the communist chief minister of west bengal ( jyoti basu ) had a chance of becoming prime minister but was told by his party ( cpi-m ) to withdraw.

i don't actually care if the economy is doing better but i care deeply for india's social/economic problems to be removed, and the one year of modi sarkaar has been a utter failure in removing them.

Gandhi always started his meetings with a religious prayer. He wanted to implement "Ram Rajya" and was a strict Vegetarian and wrote this,

“My religion teaches me that I should, by personal conduct, instil into the minds of those who might hold different views, the conviction that cow-killing is a sin and that, therefore, it ought to be abandoned."
