Just what was the point

A simple proper Partition with majority muslim areas going on to form either a Pakistan or other independent Muslim states was the sensible way forward

A Sikh state in Punjab

A xtian state around Goa maybe

India was not cruising under the radar. That is a classic revisionist trope favoured by intransigents in Pakistan and in India alike, and with little validity. The whole tenor of the article cited is against that, as it states clearly that it is due to BJP + RSS + Sangh Parivar divisive politics that the anti-Muslim sentiment has grown.

Sikhs can have Khalistan with parts of Punjab from India and Pakistan.

Christians can have Goa as an independent state.

While remaining Hindus of Pakistan and Muslims of India should be given a once in a lifetime opportunity to choose and migrate between the two nations in case they want to.
