WHY HIGH EXPECTATION TO A DYING MAN?
By Javed 25 July 2007
Since Supreme Court decision restoring the Chief Justice every advocate, every person connected with legal affairs, high profile journalists and above all the electronic media is painting a picture as if with this decision Adle-Jihangiri is now prevailing in our land. To me personally, out of proportion, public hopes are being raised without realizing how dangerous it could be. No body has seen that after the announcement and listening on TV the views of elite professionals, politicians and media men, in what words the common man is expressing his views on this decision. The citizens in their simple words are marrying with joy that now there will be a true justice prevailing in the country in as much as that on driving a without number plate car in Murree no police would now have to apologise from the arrested great son of a Islamic Sharia banner holder Chief Minister of NWFP. These advocates, intellectuals, media wizards have all forgotten that if a Law Minister sitting in same live TV show just in 7 minutes can change from his earlier stand, the ordinary man can change just in 5 minutes. Has anyone thought what would be the mental condition of this ordinary man when he would tomorrow reach with these new high expectations to the court hoping to get true justice but instead he hears as usual the judge is absent due to his administrative duty elsewhere. What battle in his mind would be when he would find the advocate whom he has already paid in full in advance is engaged in some other court and had taken his case despite knowing he can not handle so much cases in a day. What would be his reaction when as usual he would be required to spare a hundred or two in the name of photocopying or for providing him copy of Document from the court? After these highest expectations when he would face same bellows in getting justice would he be able bear it now or the impact will damaging and eroding his total even the so far remaining belief from justice?
