A 19-year-old girl's chanting 'Pakistan zindabad' on stage at an anti-CAA protest in Bengaluru caused a flutter with people and police present on stage snatching away her mike and whisking her away. In no time a sedition case was filed against her. On her Facebook page, she had written "Whatever country may be - long live for all the countries!". If saying 'Pakistan zindabad' could be deemed sedition, then why were other eminent personalities who have praised Pakistan spared from being charged under the sedition law? Why wasn't the girl Amulya Leona allowed to speak out what she meant even though she chanted 'Hindustan zindabad' (long live Hindustan) multiple times? If Pakistan is a seditious word, then shouldn't those calling our own citizens as ‘Pakistani’ be charged with sedition too, asks Ravish Kumar.
