Why does China keep supporting Burma in the Rohingya crisis?

.
Of course.

BD and India have friendly relations both at government and people to people level.

Unlike the morbidly obsessed, I have no interest in faceless individuals, but in people and people groups, and what they stand for, and how they impact (and get impacted by) mine.

It should be clear to all here by the Indian presence (absence) on this thread that this is not India's fight. And neither will India intervene or side between neighbor states.

Our interests are clear. We do not want the Rohingya entering our land.

That is it. Simple. Finito.

Everything else is person and individual complexes specific. Not to be confused with India and Indians as a whole.

Cheers, Doc

LOL Shiv sena parsi supremacist (that supports terrorism like the PKK) that is always on about a muslim free Iran and even world (whatever it takes for re-establishment of the "true" Persia)....now has such sweet forked tongue all of a sudden for a particular convenient moment. Given the multiple ID's it has set up through the years (and ongoing)...what a surprise ;).

@cabatli_53 @Nein @Tps43 @MUSTAKSHAF @Desert Fox @django @Psychic @Bahram Esfandiari @WAJsal

But then again whats to be expected from as @Areesh says "fragile museum antique piece"...not quite grasping the difference between the larger populations (who I and most dont have any issue with) and specific "emissaries"... I suppose this lack of nuanced capability to distinguish...is the major reason its numbers are now so low worldwide....and soon to be gone altogether. Given that, maybe it is best for it to keep blabbing in desperation while it can for its own sake :D.

He is fighting for lost cause,if there would have been any chances of revival his forefathers won't have left that land.
They have fair share of themselves in their destruction.

You are talking out of context. A Treaty is not a Treaty unless it is signed by the concerned parties. China Harbour Engineering was playing its politics at the insistence of the Chinese govt. It was not supposed to come without first getting a Contract. China is helping Burma because it needs gas from there.

What benefits BD can get by giving extra leverage to China? It is time that BD plays a strong Rohingya role in Arakan with the help of US-Japan axis, create an autonomous region there and deny China the gas fields and deep seaport. BD is weak, but the local population of any region is not weak. Another strength of Arakan is it is geographically separated from Burma by the Yommu mountains at the east.
are you a Japanese or a Bangladeshi?

I really doubt about it, it can be rumors saying this and that, if China wants to help them, they would've become part of China long time ago.
if Myanmar army killed ethnic Chinese for no reason, most Chinese wont be ok with it.

. .
He is talking crap. Chinese military won't go anywhere, that is exactly what the US wants, find an excuse to engage them. BD won't invade MM, we are not brainsless morons like the burmans. But if it does and China sends military, uncle sam will be right here directly supporting us. But these are nonsense, neither BD will attack Burma nor China will send military.
Bangladesh army does not have the capability to conquer Myanmar. Neither Myanmar nor Bangladesh can conquer each other. Both Burmese army and Bangladesh army are weak enough to conquer each other. Bangladesh, at best can defeat Myanmar that's it.Conquest is done by big powers like USA, Russia, China, Turkey, India etc.

I do not believe there is any country in the world, no matter how powerful they are - who can justify ethnic cleansing, for any reason, including geo-political interest.

No country or grouping thereof, including China - can support ethnic cleansing on moral grounds without repercussions. The Rohingya crisis is a textbook example of ethnic cleansing.

China's stand on this is unsupportable.

If China CCP cannot support this stand morally, then it is a big regret and a serious blow to China's image as a 'savior of the poor' in Africa and South America, in contrast to 'American Hegemony' and 'regime change' actions.

It gives China's enemies enough ammunition to sully China's image so far built up in countries which China is trying to invest in. Goodwill is all China has to bank on. Other than bribing corrupt leaders of small countries.

And we also solved the Kokang issue, via bilateral negotiations with Myanmar. They are now recognized as Burmese citizens.

Whereas Bangladesh is doing everything they can to throw the Rohingya back into the burning house. They won't even give the Rohingya basic refugee status until they go back to Myanmar.

There has been enough bilateral talks between Myanmarese Tatmadaw lackeys and BD Govt. functionaries and BD govt. understoos early that the Tatmadaw is essentially stalling for time. BD would not have escalated this to the UN if Chinese actually pressured the Myanmarese, even behind the scenes. That did NOT happen - primarily because Chinese have their own geopolitical interests but did not realize it would become such a huge deal.

The Tatmadaw leadership is already cornered and marginalized on the first-world stage as far as investments and exports have started to dry up officially with sanctions and trade embargoes. China can keep supporting its lackey until further sanctions and restriction brings Myanmar to its knees economically. Good Luck.

You won't find a large coterie of countries today who support ethnic cleansing, and that of helpless poor folks. It is unpopular and unfashionable, even to the worst human rights violators.

I see that MM is the third front of China. After South China Sea and Pakistan. A superpower in making needs atleast two sea support. China in that case is seating in a miserable situation. Taiwan is situated in a position, blocking bulk of that First front. This is why Taiwan is so important, followed by South China Sea. The Chinese demand there is pretty much ludicrous to begin with. Then comes Second, the Pakistan front. USA and India are doing every subversive activities to block that as well. Plus the self destructive Mullahs are there, putting China in a uncertain position. So Im finding this situation hilarious where China is sending its horny men to change the demography of Pakistan to create something like Singapore there. Then comes the Third front Myanmar. Im hoping China does everything to solve the Rohingya crisis. Better for all parties involved. If not, not a huge loss for BD. Using Rohingyas BD can bring more Aid and BD's foreign remittance look more robust after Rohingya arrival, they can be taken in or sent some to other countries. But it destroys the ego and deep rooted hatred seeing the neighborhood policy destroyed by a distant country. It will sow the future actions related to subversive activities dismantling their Third Front as well. Good for BD, that brings more outside / Western help to BD as well.

. .
I am supporting extending sanctions on Myanmar. All BD and other people who want to return Rohingya to their lands should write letters, organise a protest outside MM embassies in the West.

The Rohingya have been abused long enough now, does anyone even know the status of the 500,000 Rohingya who are still in Arakan?
