Geographically, Iran and Israel have nothing in common, meaning they do not share borders. So neither country can affect each other. But trans-national issues are usually created by motivations that are morally based. For example, trade is a morality and the US and Canada routinely have trade complications. We resolves those in agreed upon methods. So can Iran and Israel have a purely commercial relationship? Absolutely.

My mayor's house is nowhere near my house. Her house is quite clear across our little city. If anything, being mayor, she affects me much more than I can for her by virtue of her being the leader of our city. On the other hand, my next door neighbors and I affects each other directly and daily. Their children often dropped toys in my backyard and I have no problems letting them on to my property to retrieve their toys and even play in my backyard. We get along just fine. When I have to travel, my neighbors keep an eye on my house and their children have a bigger playground.

Countries are no different. In fact, there is a political theory that postulates countries are no different than biological beings in that countries have needs, desires, and will fight for ideas. Look it up. Anyway...Countries that shares common borders always have their neighbors' needs and desires foremost in minds. It simply means whatever national policies are enacted, everyone asks themselves on the consequences and how would it affect the immediate neighbors.

So for countries that DOES NOT share common borders, if they are hostile to each other, we can immediately rule out national policies that have immediate consequences to immediate neighbors, such as fishing rights violations between the US and Canada, for example. Or illegal immigration between the US and Mexico, for another example. Fishing rights and illegal immigration are very much geopolitical. They can and usually are peaceably resolved. If anything, the fact that the neighbors are next door to each other, it is even more important that contested issues are resolved peaceably.

When Iran overthrew the Shah and enacted a brand new government, that is effectively a 'Reboot' button pressed for Iran. The new government can follow the previous administration's policies, modify them, or even abandon them completely. For examples, when Viet Nam was unified, the South Vietnamese currency became worthless pretty much by declaration, or when Germany was partitioned, two divergent economic policies arose, also pretty much by declaration. That mean Iran could just simply let Israel alone, or just have a purely commercial relationship, or be more engaged diplomatically instead of militarily. Iran chose the military path.

So what motivated an Iranian national hatred for Israel? Religion.

Simple, N Korea can be contained and frankly china is a player in it because they are fed up with the neighbor too.

Iran on the other hand will create a huge rush to go nuclear by its neighbors and completely unstabilize the region. BUT also that they will give such weapons albeit in its ' dirty form' to the very many terrorists and such groups it supports. Keep in mind it is mad mullahs running the country on foundations based on a warped sense of the religion .

about borders let me show you an example. was USA and USSR disagreement was due to religion or Geopolitical and related to their sphere of influence . what about Japan and USA at WW2 . those US and Venezuela disagreement have anything to do with religion or border ? did Castro threatened USA in any way

Am using religion only as an example of the diversity of causes that could ignite hostile sentiments among countries. This is a pathetic attempt to evade on your part. For Cuba, how about allowing Soviet nuclear missiles in-country? Between Cuba and the US, we do share a common border. It just happened to be a body of water, but it is a border nonetheless.

Bottom line is this: The Iranian national hatred against Israel is motivated by religion, not geopolitics. You do not like this fact and you are trying -- in vain -- to avoid it. it has nothing to do with religion as we were the only nation in middle east that did not deport jews out of our country and even after the revolution we went to the extent to make sure that Jews always will have at least one member in our prliament even when their population were far less than what that warrant such action

by the way Iran - Israel relation is like two competitor its just how in middle east we compete. by the way we don't hate jews , we hate Zionists and it started when they began assassinate leader of Jewish community in Iran so to imply that Iran is not safe for jews and made them migrate to Israel and they didn't did it after revolution they did it at the time of ww2 when our country have been attacked by to usual villain USSR and England . by the way there is no need to tell how their plans failed. nd after that there is no need to tell how they used AIPAC to pamper us.

just let tell you Iran disagreement with Israel go back to before the revolution its the fight over middle-east , both country want to be the dominant force in middle east politic and its why they love each other so much. and US conflict with USSR was not communism vs. democracy fight . theses terms were just tools to fool people . they just simply wanted to rule the world for themselves .
