Why Chinese-Russian Friendship is Here to Stay

Take it easy. That guy isn't a Chinese citizen. If he does love China,he wouldn't move to Singapore.Keeping a friendship is very important to China & Russia

I agree, whenever anyone talks about "China invading Russia" they're either A) Talking out of their behind B) A false flagger C) a butthurt westerner who's afraid of a China/Russia counterweight D) All of the above.

No true Chinese person wants Russia to be weak and no true Chinese wants to invade Russia. Even from a purely economical point of view, an invasion makes no sense. Assuming Russia doesn't nuke the crap out of China, it would be prohibitively costly to attempt to take and hold by force what can be had much cheaper via trade that benefits both sides. So whenever someone mentions China invading Russia, it's more of a reflection of their own fears, biases, and wishful thinking.

Bottom line: China and Russia have peaceful borders and any border issues were resolved decades ago. China/Russian relations can only improve and given the increased trade, cultural exchanges, and military cooperation, we're seeing that. And certain people are nervous because of this partnership. Sucks to be them.

so you want an angry northern neighbor? China was always invaded and conquered from the north first by mongols then by japanese so its the least favorable location china needs conflict. An unstable northern border would throw china and russia 30 years back and would make them regional players buddy

I'm glad you mentioned the Mongol Empire because the most important thing that allowed them to conquer most of Asia was the horse. Guess who controls the modern day horse?

I assure you China won't lose a ground war in Asia. Our motor vehicles industry is large enough to transport tens of millions of troops and maintain supply lines across Asia.

Furthermore, China doesn't need ICBMs or SSBNs to cover Russia.

So while I'm NOT proposing war with Russia, you should also understand that Russia is no longer calling the shots in this relationship. The Soviet Union is long gone. This is now the Chinese century. Get used to it.

and youre just producing as much vehicles in relation to your population as Russia is. You also forget that Russia is energy independent we can bomb middle east oil/gas facilities which are all located in 1 area and then any Asian country at war with us goes into stone age.

Cease ur FIRE !

Face U.S, Sino-Russia has no choice. Why Chinese-Russian Friendship is Here to Stay ?
1. China & Russia have the same stronger rival.
2. China & Russia have the same interest in Asia
3. U.S wanna ur nation die, but China not (Russia not)
4. Russian had tasted lessons from U.S since USSR collapsed, now Russia trust Chinese more than the West.

It's just history repeated, Churchill's capitalist supported Stalin's Bolshevik to against Hitler's Nazi. :D

Once U.S stay there, Chinese-Russian Friendship stay here !

China has a strategic oil reserve.

Strategic petroleum reserve (China) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So while you're busy bombing the Middle East, China has already driven the world's largest army into Vladivostok and cut off all access to the Pacific Ocean. How many warm water ports does Russia have left without Vladivostok?

But relax my Russian friend. China DOES NOT want war with Russia. Only an idiot would want to start a nuclear war in Asia. Instead of invading Russia, there are many easier targets such as Southeast Asia, Central Asia, or even the Middle East to invade. If China wanted to, we could drive the entire PLA plus tens of millions of conscripts straight through Central Asia and into the Middle East. This massive army will be backed by J-10B, J-16, J-20, and J-31 in the air. Who's going to stop us? They can't even stop ISIS in Iraq. Forget about stopping China.:enjoy:

The West and Japan is trying a bit too hard to come between China and Russia. All fruitless efforts, as both top powers know what they are up to. The only way for us to become more influential and expanding our economy is closer cooperation. While the Cold War era has hurt the bond between USSR and China, domestic problems in China and the downfall of USSR have also contributed the delay to our development. Ironically this has led us rejoining hands once again from the beginning of the 90s. Only after Putin came to power relations have started taking new heights.

In this volatile geopolitical environment (while the bear is facing threats from missile shield to sanctions and the dragon is dealing with the China pivot) this tag team is growing stronger by the day. Actually both China and Russia benefit greatly from these hostilities.

It's not about horse,It's about people's mind set.Putting the reason of defeating by the northerners into horses is just a mind masturbation.
A coward that afraid of fighting will not defeat a true warrior even he has a better weapon, the most they can do is just protecting himself for a while but eventually they will be beaten. That's the reason why south china was always conquered by nortjerners in most of time. And why hundreds of thousands of mongols and jurchens can conquere the whole China.because the more south you go ,the more cowards you find.

He is just an anti-CPC Singaporean troll, and now he is getting banned again.

BTW, I don't think it is wise for China to piss off Russia, since it is not worthy for us to fight over for some frozen Taiga forest at the expense of our rising Superpower status, even the US won't be stupid enough to do that.

To contain against the threat from the US, we need the help from Russia.

Yep, if China is trying to take over Siberia, then we should backstab Russia right now.

But instead, we are supporting Russia at any cost, since we have evaluated the measures, as Putin remaining in power does fulfill the best for our national interests.

He is just a China-hating troll (which got rightfully banned) and all China-hating trolls are by default Russia-haters. Hence, they will naturally seek ways to sow discord between the two neighbors.

The contemporary record of the two leaderships' vision of the world is a strong reminder that the China-Russia partnership is here to stay as it is idea-based, rather than purely economic.

Xi-Putin meet next week to boost alliance
November 2, 2014, The BRICS Post

Xi has held talks or met with Putin for nine times since he assumed the office of China’s President in March 2013 [PPIO]

Russia and China are looking to boost cooperation in major investment projects in mining, the chemical industry, agriculture and infrastructure construction, which will be on the agenda of talks between the leaders of the two allies next week.

Russian and Chinese Presidents Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping will hold bilateral talks on the sidelines of the APEC Leaders Summit which will be held in Beijing from Nov. 7-11. This will be the 5th Xi-Putin meeting in 2014.

Xi will also meet US President Barack Obama during the APEC Summit. China’s burgeoning trade and investment treaties within Asia Pacific is increasing its influence in the region while challenging US hegemony.

China’s alliance with Russia and increasing overtures towards South Korea come in the backdrop of the much-hyped US Asia Pivot policy.

Xi has held talks or met with Putin for nine times since he assumed the office of China’s President in March 2013.

Despite a gloomy global economy, the trade volume between Russia and China surged last year, nearing the target of $100 billion set for 2015, said Putin.

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and the Russia-China Investment Fund (RCIF) are working on infrastructure projects related to China’s revival of the “Silk Road”.

The two countries signed over 40 agreements during the 19th China-Russia Prime Ministers’ meet in Moscow last month.

The Prime Ministers summit this year follows successful meetings between President Xi Jinping and Putin where the two leaders have overseen enormous Sino-Russian joint ventures, including a landmark $400 billion gas deal in Shanghai after a decade-long gas supply talks between the two countries.

Russia also plans to sign a new 30-year gas supply contract with China via the western route. Putin also welcomed Chinese investors joining the strategic Vankor oil project in Siberia.

“Vankor is one of the biggest production operations today and very promising. Overall, we take a cautious approach to letting in our foreign partners, but we of course set no restrictions for our Chinese friends,” said Putin.

During the BRICS Summit earlier this year, the Chinese President said Beijing is “true in word and resolute in deed” in ties with Moscow, while pushing for intensifying “political support to each other”.

The Chinese President’s support to Putin comes in the backdrop of the severe sanctions against Russia announced by Western economies over the turmoil in Ukraine.

“I want to make it clear that China categorically opposes the sanctions the United States and Western countries have taken against Russia. China categorically opposes colour revolutions and attempts to hold back Russia’s development,” said the Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli in September in Moscow.

Putin said earlier this year that the Sino-Russian ties, including those on approaches to international problems, are at an unprecedented level.

“As for our relations with China’s People’s Republic, they develop successfully and are at an unprecedentedly high level – both at the level of trust and the level of cooperation. I mean also the political sphere, our common approaches to estimations of international situations and to security in the world,” he said during a Q&A session in April in Moscow.

Russia’s trade turnover with China is almost thrice as big as that with the US.

“It is absolutely clear that we will be expanding collaboration with China. Our trade with the United States is 27.5 [billion], but trade with China is 87 billion, and it is growing. And experts will agree that China is gradually becoming the number one economic power. The question is when it will happen: in 15, 20 or 25 years. But everybody understands that it is inevitable,”asserted Putin.

The Russian and Chinese central banks have signed a massive currency swap deal worth $24.4 billion for three years, which will allow them to increase trade in domestic currencies and cut the dependence on the US dollar in bilateral payments.

In September, Moscow and Beijing have entered into a pact to boost use of the rouble and yuan for trade transactions.

Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is a forum for 21 Pacific Rim member economies that seeks to promote free trade and economic cooperation throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
