Why Brazil, India, and China will be thrilled if Republicans win the midterms.!!!

.
In US Court has ruled that campaign contribution=Freedom of Speech.

It actually is.

The politicians care more about their powerful positions then the people they represent. The problem is politicians tend to look for the easiest ways to raise campaign money. The TV ads tend to get very expensive nearing the election day.

Its a lot of work meeting individuals or small group of people, and try to collect $10, 20, 30, 50, 100, 1000, 2000 dollars. Not many average people can contribute 500-2000 dollars. Late FL Governor Lawon Chiles was know for his door to door campaign. That breed is extinct now. The plus side is you can make your case on one to one/few basis.

OTOH its lot easier logistically to meet a group of people at 500/1000/2000 ( $2000.00 is the limit to individual candidate contribution) plate dinner. One can bring in tens of thousands if not 100s of thousands in just a few hours. The down side is you gotta tarde your larger public interst for these few individuals.

Every politiican will gleefully proclaim "Washington is broken" and then pander you to elect him or her so they can assist in fixing this "washington thingy." The larger public allows this insanity to continue hoping every time "this guy probably is different", like a loosing gambler.

Big busines, big labor gains influence by giving money to candidates. The traditional media makes big bucks during the elections days.
Guess who gets scre***d ?

. .
whatever the case may be. However i think obama can handle US more well than if mccain was elected.

I wasn't asking you to quote somebody else kiddo; i was asking you to clarify YOUR post

i assume by "elected" you are referring to the upcoming midterms? He's running for the Arizona senate seat; wishing him best of luck!

I wish America the best of luck in the world. I live in Canada if you guys are fvcked, I'm fvcked, but your system is impossible. No reform can make a dent against those who are running the machine behind the scenes, and even Tea Party "small government" types are really just a puppet populist movement controlled by corporate interest.

Think about it. What were their issues? Privatizing the health care system? Less government intervention in business? More tax cuts? Do those really help the poor schmucks with tea bags cello-taped to their hats marching down the Washington mall?

The Tea Party is not a political party yet as far as i know. right. and yea you right, i guess tea party in the future will just make deal with republican or democratic. i don't think they would create another party. for now, both main parties demo and republican are fcked up. sad to see US going down after ruling for more than a century. But a single person can't do much.

I think one should not automatically correlate a relative decline in US power/influence with the rise of China and other developing countries. There are issues that may need to be addresses within the US regardless of the state of other countries.
