No, Chinigura is just good for Polau and Biriyani. The Mymensingh doctors should research for something that as good as Japanese rice. It is sticky and tasty.
There is also similar California and Australian rice imported to Japan. But, no Japanese will ever buy anything like foreign rice. They will pay three times more for Japanese rice. Only the foreigners seeking a cheap price would go to Halal Food Shops to buy imported rice.
In Faridpur I once bought a few kgs of local (probably Rangpur) Basmati rice. There is no Bas and also no Moti in this rice very bad taste. I think weather and soil are important for a certain variety of rice. A good quality Basmati may not be produced in BD and it is also meant for Polau and Biriyani although many Pakistanis cook rice with this variety.
However, the Mymensingh rice doctors may try for a genetically modified Japanese or Basmati rice for general consumption. But, please ask them to make the rice tasty and bring down the number of varieties to two or three. At least, 25 varieties are avaikable now.
