Whose ideology is it anyway?

its rather alarming than boring

Why alarming. R@ts don't have ideology. They don't have democracy. They don't believe in a way of life. The fact is that the r@ts are simply r@ts. Last time I read this fatty and I found him calling Pakistanis as r@ts. So why you expect all this democracy and ideology blah blah from r@ts.

Well i mostly like Nadeem articles because of his cruel sense of humour. However, he often goes overboard in criticism.

If you want people to listen to you then it's important to point out without offending anyone.

As for G.M.Syed, he is not worth discussing as well as his ideologies.

GM syed wasnt wrong was he ? what he projected is now a reality , we must stop this practice of labelling leaders as traitors and rather take them seriously they have good source of informations from the people and have far sight . This is a blunder people like GM SYED and Bacha khan should have been involved in finding a solution for a potential problem.

ok well not a good thing calling names .... He is a critique he point fingers at faults within social and political errors and blunders. Instead of getting sore its important to focus on the matter.

So tell me the Islamist seeds [as I believed] were sowed not by Zia but beforehand by Bhutto??

pak-marine, you sound like a typical MQM-supporting muhajir. you posted this not because of "criticism", but because your another muhajir who loves india more than Pakistan. You think india is a better country than Pakistan.

and how did you reach that conclusion ?

@ajtr where did I call him raw agent I said he's a snake there's a difference snakes even worse

Nadeem is one of the greatest and yet few heroes of sanity on the web.

Mr. Paracha is spot on -- the creation of "ideology" of Islam-ization is already the source of much regret and will in the future give Pakistanis and those who get in their way, even more cause to lament.

But the source of the problem is not the role of religion, it is the question of the quality of values that inform that religiosity -- the reason both Pakistanis and those get in their way have much to fear from this ideology, is that it is bereft of Islam but it is full of tribal notions - Rahman and Raheem, though they are the most frequently used qualities to describe God in Quran, find not just little expression but outright rejection in the ideology of Islam in Pakistan.

With your permission, allow me to add that Pakistan must have Islam - but Pakistan must decide what is the content of that Islam - we know that it cannot be the Islam of the house of Saud and the Wahabi (anyone familiar with how it was forced upon the Arabian Peninsula and the quality of it's ideas, will realize that it cannot suit a modern nation state, that it is in fact the bringer of the end of the nation state) -- So Pakistanis cannot escape this, they must fashion a workable response and create Islam in Pakistan - my guess is that it will not be very different from the way we understood Islam before the Arabization of Pakistan - or if not, Pakistanis will suffer greater humiliations and misfortunes.

G. M. Syed was a political leader who pioneered the Jeay Sindh movement for the freedom of Sindh from Pakistan.Bacha Khan opposed Muslim league and he was against the creation of Pakistan. Please don't blame me for branding them traitors.Good for Pakistan! Both died with their ideologies. Separatists can't be considered as patriotic people or can they?

I damn care what some idiots think about Pakistan. Its true that Pakistan suffered from Islamisation but i don't need a separatist leader to tell me this.

However i have great respect for Nadeem. He may some uncomfortable truths but i have learned a lot from him. However his example of G.M Syed was in bad taste. Overall i agree with him.

G.M Syed was part of the Muslim League and was pivotal in getting Sindh to become a part of Pakistan, Sindh being the first province to join the nation. So he was not exactly a traitor but what happened later is a different matter and he had good reasons to turn against the rulers who have taken us down this sorry state.

Even Bacha Khan wanted to meet Jinnah to pledge his support for Pakistan but Abdul Qadeer Khan made sure that this did not happen.

They wanted a secular nation which keeps provincial identities intact as well as an autonomous government.

The opposite happened where Punjab got the major say in matters while others got sidelined, religiously the same occurred too.

Islam and Pakistan can never be separated. The Islamic charater is embeded deep with in the Cultural fabric of Muslims of Pakistan.Having said that the idea of being secular is often misunderstood by the hardcore librals. However needles to say that Islam was being used as an entity by the currupt Political Elites to put forward there henious ajenda of attaining power or influence and till now Islam is being subjected to be used as to get a seat in Parliment or win an election. But the harcor Librals are much to be blamed for all this as they did tried to defuct it in the past and failed miserable evrey time. Everybody did. Those who couldnt exploited Reagionalism with perfection to carve there way.
NFK is spot on when he says that
Logically speaking, constructing state-level unity out of this diversity should have been attained by providing a generous degree of democratic autonomy to the provinces. But instead of taking the logical democratic route in this context, the ruling elite began seeing this diversity as an existentialist and political threat to the country.

And this is the way it should have been.We did wittiness the Name of NWFP changing to Khyber Pakhtoonkhua, didnt we.
And over the history Due to Diverse Leadership Islam made several Ins and Outs from mainstream Politics. The corrupt Religious Parties of today are the byproduct of this phenomenon. They are a menace to Nation and worst they are a menace to Islam. There Political Agenda and working no way correlates with Islamic teachings. They are here to exploit the Religious aspirations which are Naturally embeded inside the Rich Cultural Fabric of the Muslims of Pakistan and No force can separate this fundamental thing from them.

T]he call of Islam is one which transcends the bounds of country. It may have lost some force as a result of the abolition of Caliphate by Mustafa Kamal Pasha, but it still has a very considerable appeal as witness for example Jinnah's insistence on our giving undertaking that Indian troops should never be employed against any Muslim state, and the solicitude which he has constantly expressed for the Arabs of Palestine. - March 24, 1940, Lord Zetland, British Secretary of State for the colonial India
