Who Would Win A Conflict In The South China Sea: The Infographic

Its interesting how the Filipino people have adopted this 'ubuntu' concept , or a forgiveness culture.

I can't even begin to explain it to myself, much less to a non-Filipino. I guess it could be related to our fatalism? Life goes on no matter what we do or think, so you might as well make the most of it. You have to live with our neighbors no matter what they do, so you might as well get along. Hmm. I don't think those are adequate to explain it

Maybe we're just gullible

I think its correlated with the Christian culture of Philippines.

Matthew 18:22,

Then Peter came and said to Him, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?" Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

Maybe we're just gullible

he he , i think its definitely a trait amongst Filipinos to be kind, forgiving, and great at being hosts. And I say this as one who has visited your country plenty of times.

The US wants to get itself involved in a matter which doesn't have anything to do with the US in the first place. No legal basis whatsoever thus the only option left is to paint China as the regional threat to her neighbors and using excuses like ensuring the freedom of navigation. China not only has not threaten her neighbors nor has she denied the free access of these busy sea lanes. The US is the destabilizing factor in SCS

US is the greatest nation on the face of the Earth but still one should not overestimate capabilities and the will to mobilize those capabilities in full to the degree of gambling with one's existence. US will probably die for itself, but not for others.

Russian Jets Force US Navy Destroyer Away From Territorial Waters

30.05.2015

Russian Navy jets forced a US Navy ship into the eastern Black Sea after it was noticed heading into Russia's territorial waters.

Russian Navy Su-24 jets forced US Navy destroyer USS Ross to go into neutral waters in the Black Sea, a source in Crimea's security forces told RIA Novosti.

The US Navy ship was noticed heading directly toward Russian waters after leaving the Romanian port of Costanta. The incident comes on the same day as fugitive Georgian ex-leader Mikheil Saakashvili's appointment as governor of Ukraine's Black Sea-bordering Odessa region.

"The ship's crew acted provocatively and aggressively, which caused alarm among operators of monitoring stations and Black Sea Fleet ships carrying out assignments in the Black Sea. Scrambled Su-24 attack jets demonstrated a readiness to forcibly suppress border violations and defend the country's interest," the source said.

According to the source, Russian Black Sea Navy ships are constantly monitoring Russian territorial waters and are ready to suppress any violations.

"It seems that the Americans did not forget the April 2014 incident when one Su-24 actually shut down all equipment on the new USS Donald Cook American destroyer with anti-missile system elements," the source added.

Russian Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov said that US missile ships near Russian borders pose a danger to strategic stability on Saturday, while at the Shangri-La Dialogue security summit in Singapore.

The United States has no choice but intervene as it is the Guarantor of peace and stability , preventing any power from enacting policies resemblant of Hegemony. In this regard the United States' presence in the region is as pertinent as the trade traversing through said region.

Let's just be done with all such moral and upright descriptions shall we? US had a fundamental hegemonistic outlook, and imployed Monroe doctorine. US also regularly starts things that no normal state does. It is the US who caused the Yinhe incident, by interdicting a Chinese vessel.

So let's play the game, but refrain from emotional platitudes. These create emotions, which are least desired during such situations.

I doubt a war would turn to nuclear. In a conventional-based apparatus, the conflict would be overwhelmingly one sided. This would lead to status quo ante bellum.

:)
I think it will be a bit like korean conflict.
Initially China will overwhelm Japan and its allies untill US is forced to enter into a full scale conflict in Asia Pacific that will push china a bit.
And i am not sure about Americans they have a history of using nukes if they cannot take the conventional edge.
If that happens then China will not sit silent.
Neither China nor Nor US can completely nutralize each other conventionally .
Any conflict in Asia Pacific will be a US-China conflict. Rest are just a buffer between the two giants

CHINA WILL DO WHAT IT WANTS, WHEN IT WANTS, HOWEVER IT WANTS.

No one can stop China, absolutely no one.

I guess, this has, by now, been understood. At least, Mr. Obama seems to understand that. Hence you start to see news how the Western media suddenly discovers in fact Vietnam and the Philippines have their own island reclamation/development programs, and much earlier than that of China.

Now their counter argument is: "But China's program is so fast and so massive." Well, if you have no stamina, do not participate the marathon. Or, be content with your rightful place. You cannot accuse, with a straight moral-face, the best athlete for his participation in the race.

Who will win in the case that war actually breaks out in SCS will definitely not be Vietnam or Philippines. In most likely scenarios these two will be annihilated right at the beginning pretty quickly. The average Vietnamese and Filipino will suffer the most. The real battle will be against China vs. U.S. should the U.S. go through with their aggressive containment policy. United States as usual the invader will frame China as the aggressors in our own backyard to justify their act of war and to muster support from domestic and international audience, how much of American bullshit people believe these days are up to debate. For China, it will be a matter of national sovereignty, thus will have no choice but to fight to win and since the entire SCS is right in our backyard, it is within range of our missiles, unless the U.S. fleets want to rest at the bottom of the ocean, go for it.
bravo, just keep your delusion.

if I recall, we smashed the Mongolian and Manchurian armies, while they, the babarians conquered china, took your women and enslaved all males. Chinese army is a joke. mark my words: all your numbers in men and weapons will not hinder you to swallow the next humiliation defeat. the only thing you are good at is bragging. and bullying the weak, of course.

Global Geopolitics
1. USA (Obama) backs down in Ukraine and Syria. Civil War in Iraq and Yemen.
2. Obama focused completely on Iran to preserve his legacy.
3. UK is completely internally focused. Rest of EU and Oceania have no appetite for any confrontation with China.
4.Russia in recession due to sanctions and involved in Ukraine
5. China armed forces modernization close to complete.

6. Assertive China sees a chance to secure its backyard and future proof its trade route by CPEC and building bases in SCS so that USA cannot conduct a naval blockade in future conflict and the only alternative hence is Mutually Assured Destruction

7. Ball is in American Court as without US involvement rest of East Asian countries would collapse like pack of cards against any conflict with China. If USA back downs here it passively acknowledging Chinese supremacy in Asia-Pacific and China henceforth can dictate terms.

8. It is inevitable that China would challenge USA for Global Hedgemony. The Trillion Dollar Question is what will USA do.
Would USA step aside for China ?

Remember folks its Zero Sum Game; China's Rise would accompany USA's shrinking sphere of influence. However you may try to sugarcoat it there are no other scenarios.

We, the "paper tiger" arm modernization is close to complete? LOL, try "just started".

Sorry my statement wasn't accurate as modernization is a continuous process. Larger armed forces will keep on upgrading their hardware. I meant relatively compared to 90's your armed forces are much more capable with indigenous military-industrial complexes well established. You guys don't need to import too much hardware. In that sense India has just started our journey with "Make in India". While you have arrived

The primary advantage of the Mongols was the horse.

The vast plains and grasslands of the Asian Steppes were the perfect environment for raising horses, and the horse allowed them to expand all across the Asian mainland.

The modern-day horse is the motor vehicle.

Guess who controls that now?

As for Vietnam, the one thing that saved you again and again throughout history is the jungle.

so in your war against the mongols they had horse, while you not?
so the jungle saves Vietnam. really? you don´t have any idea why and how we crushed the 500,000 strong mongolian army, when they tried to conquer Vietnam in 1287. And obviously, you have no idea, either, that we finally smashed their 400 warships fleet at the Red river in the decisive battle, when we lured them into a trap. where is the jungle in the red river delta?

today you have tanks, or motor vehicle as you say it. do you think we don´t possess such thing?
