Spratly belong to Vietnam from long time ago. There wasn't dispute in the past. We have to strengthen our position in Spratly.

China and Phillipine stolen our Islands in time of Vietnam war and Sino Vietnam war after 1979.

If China didn't lay claim on SCS, viet will control most of the island as they like. Maybe even threatening and swallowing the philippine and malaysia part. No one claim to be US or Russia in this matter, but ASEAN as a whole is quite formidable if they can unite their power and voice as one unified front. With ASEAN centrality, we can invite much powerfull party to back our bid in many matter. But only IF such unity can be formed.

If war in SCS happen, the only countries that will collapse and thrown back to the their ancient past are the conflicting countries, which include and particularly vietnam. Indonesia in this matter will continue their lives as usual and enjoy the show at the sideline.
